AN ORDRDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF " "AGE ADDITION "
CALIFORNIA.
\ TO THE CITY OF LODI,
F.
VEIEREAS, in answer to a petition signed by the owners of
not less than one-fourth of the area and representing not less than
one-fourth of the assessed value of the territory hereinafter described,
this City Council did, on the 23rd day of October, 1946, pass and adopt
its Resolution No. 1279, declaring it to be the intention of said City
Council to annex to the City of Lodi certain uninhabited territory con-
tiguous to said City, in accordance with the 'proceedings had and to be
had pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939 " as amended, said territory for the purposes
hereof to be designated for identification as TURNAGJ3 ADDITION "
and particularly bounded and described as hereinafter set forth, and,
WBEEAS, due publication of said Resolution No. 1279 was
had in time, form and manner as required by law as is evidenced by
affidavit on file and of record in the office of the City Clerk of
this City, and,

WHEREkS, among other things, the said Resolution NO. 1279
gave public notice that owners of real property affected by said an-
nexation might file written protests against said annexation up to
the hour of 8:OO o'clock P.M. of Wednesday, November 13, 1946 with
this City Council, which protests would be received and considered
at said day and hour in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Lodi,
California, and,
WEREAS, at thzt place and on that day and hour this City
Council did in open regular meeting declare that it was then ready
to receive and hear any and all prOt8StS or objections against the
annexation of said territory to the City of Lodi and no protests
either written or oral were presented, and, by reason that no pro-
tests were received, this City Council did then and there acquire
jurisdiction to annex said territroy to the City of Lodi, now therefore,

The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as follows:
Section 1. The annexation of the following described unin-
habited territory contiguous to said City of Lodi, County of San Joa-
quin, State of California is hereby approved and is hereby declared to
be annexed to and made part of said City, to-wit:
* "RACT 100, SUBDIVISIONS OF SAX JOAQUIN CODNTY, TURNAGE SUBDIV-
ISION, MAP FIUD SEPTEMBER 14, 1946 IN VOL 11, PAGE 119 OF MAPS
AN;D PLATS, SAN JOAQUIN COUllTY RECORDS TOGETHER rh'ITE3 ALL THAT
PART OF WEST LODI AVEMJE, (SARGE3TT ROAD), LYING NEST OF THE
PRFSIXNT CITP LIMITS AND EAST OF THE QUARTEF? SECTION CORNER COM-
WN' TO SECTIONS 2 AWD 11, T3N, Rm, M.D.B. & M.
Section 2. Upon the efPective date of this ordinance, the City
Clerk shall make, certify and transmit a certified copy hereof to the
Secretary of State of the State of California, giving the date Of its
passage, adoption and approval and he shall also conply with such other
statutes as may be applicable hereto.

that the foregoing Ordinance NO. 340 was regularly introduced and
read at an adjourned regular meeting of the (Xty Council of said City
