BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City Council recently created this seven -member Task Force to plan for event(s) for the new millennium. I have completed the interviews for this Steering Committee and am ready to make the following recommendation for appointments: Year 2000 Steering Committee Myrna Wetzel Dorean Rice Erin lanni Evelyn Olson Cynthia Haynes Robert Lechner Joanne Mounce In addition, I would ask Council's concurrence to add to the Committee one representative each from the Parks and Recreation Commission, Senior Citizens Commission, the Lodi Arts Commission and the Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission. I sincerely believe that this will be a most exciting and creative experience. A letter has gone out to the appropriate City staff liaisons advising them of the formation of this Committee and that a representative from each of the following City commissions also be asked to serve: Lodi Arts Commission Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission Lodi Parks and Recreation Commission Lodi Senior Citizens Commission I have requested that these representatives be named before November 15, 1997 so that a meeting of our Committee could be called shortly thereafter.
