HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - No. 285In the City council City of Lodi Lodi, California ORDINANCE NO. 285 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 230 AND IN LIEU THEREOF ESTABLISHING THE OF- FICE OF CITY EMGINEER, CONBINING THE SAME WITH THE OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT OF STRE- ETS AND FIXING HIS DUTIES AND CONPENSATION. The City council of the City of Lodi does ordain as I Section 1. Ordinance No. 230 of the City of Lcdi I \ follows: adopted January 18, 1937 is hereby repealed. Section 2. There is hereby established the office of gity Engineer of and for the City of Lodi, California, who shall also be ex-officio Superintendent of Streets. Section 3. The duties of the City Engineer shall be to do all surveying and engineering work for the City, prepare plans and specifications for public works and improvements, give engineering services and advice to the City and its officers and employees and to perform such other services of an engineering nature as may be required of him by the City Council. He shall also perform all the duties appertaining to the office of Super- intendent of Streets as may be prescribed by law and by ordinance. Section 4. The City Engineer shall be appointed by the City Council from time to time and as desired by said City Council and shall serve thereafter until his death, resignation, removal by the City Council or the appointment of his successor. Section 5. The salary of the City Engineer shall be Three Hundred Dollars per month, payable monthly for such part of his time as he may devote to the duties of his office and such additional compensation as the City Council shall from time to time provide by resolution. In addition to which he shall receive five cents per mile for each mile traveled by automobile and his necessary expenses in performing his official duties. Section 6. This ordinance shall be published one time in THE LODI TIWES and shall be in force thirty days from its final passage, adoption -- Approved this and publication. ----o------ 6th day of January, 1948.
