HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - No. 28An ordinance requiring certain persons to clear the sidewalk spaces of weeds and rubbish. The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi do ordain as follows: Section 1. Every owner, holder, lessee, tenant or occupant of any lot or parcel of land abutting on any street or streets in the City of Lodi, and every person who, as agent or otherwise, has control or charge of sucki~lot or parcel of land, shall and :nust clear and keep clear,ta the extent that i is practicable to so do, of weeds and rubbish, a1.l sidewalk space or spaces upon which such lot or parcel of land abuts or to which such lot or parcel extends. For the purposes of the foregoing requirement, the phrase "sidewalk space or spaces" xeans such part or parts of the street or streets as lies or lie between the line which divides the street from the abutting lots or parcels of land and a line in t'ne street running par- tl Section 2. Any violation of this ordinance is punishzble by a fine not to exceed twenty dollars or by imprisonment in the city prison of the City of Lodcl or the county jail of the County of San Joaquin not to- exceed twenty days or by both such fine arid imprisonment or by such fine with a direction that the defendant be so imprisoned uritil the f5r.e is paid,the judgnent specifying the extent of such iqrisonment which shall cot EX- ceed one day for each one dollar of the fine. , ,Section 3.
