AN ORDINANCE JUB"DING ORDINANCE
NO. 250 REIXTING TO AUTOMOBILE
TRAFFIC ON TE STREETS OF LODI.
The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as
follows :
Ordinance No. 250 entitled i'An Ordinance Repealing
Ordinances Numbers 157 and 196 and Amending Ordinance No. 137
Relating to Automobile Traffic Upon the Streets of the City of
Lodi" is hereby amended by adding to section 11 of said Ordinance
No. 250 the following subsections:
(e) When traveling in an Easterly or Westerly direction
before crossing the easterly or westerly property lines of
Church Street south of Lockeford Street
(f) When traveling in an Easterly or Westerly direction
before crossing the easterly or westerly lines of Central Avenue
(g) When traveling in a Northerly or Southerly direction
before crossing the Northerly or Southerly property lines of
Pine Street
(h) When traveling in a Northerly or Southerly SLfrection
before crossing the northerly or southerly property lines of
Woodbridge (Turner) Road between the Westerly line of Church Stree't
and the Westerly City limits.

(i) When traveling in a southerly direction before
crossing the Northerly property line of Kettleman Lane (Terminous
Road) between Cherokee Lane (State Highway 4) and the East line
of Quimby Avenue (South Hutchins Street)
Provided, that, at the intersection of Pine Street and
Central Avenue, traffic on Central Avenue shall stop before
entering Pine Street.
Provided further, that, at the intersection of Lodi
Avenue and Central Avenue, traffic on Central hvenue shall stop
before entering Lodi Avenue.
Provided further, that, traffic on Church Street shall
stop before entering Pine Street or Lodi Avenue.
Provided further that traffic on Lockeford Street
shall stop before entering Church Street.
The Chief of Police is hereby authorized to have "Stop"
signs conforming to Section 471 of the "Vehicle Code" erected at
the places designated in this ordinance.
This is an ordinance providing for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health and safety and shall go
into effect immediately upon its adoption. The facts constituting
the urgency thereof are as follows: Accidents due to increased
traffic on the streets of Lodi can be prevented by checking

vehicular speed at many street intersections and clearly designating
the streets having right of way. This ordinance being in part a
restatement of existing ordinances or resolutions, also provides
added precautions against future intersection accidents.

Certified to have been regularly introduced at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Lodi held September 17, 1941 and there-
after finally passed, adopted and ordered to
print on the 1st day of October, 1941 by the
following vote:
