AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING THAT THE WHOLE OF LODI LARE PARK IS A PUBLIC PLAYGROUND AND PLACE OF PUBLIC ASSEitBLAGE, THAT ALL THE HIGHWAYS AND DRIVEWAYS IN SAID PARK PASS PLACES OF PWLIC ASSENiBLAGE AND THROUGH SUCH PUBLIC PLAYGROUNDS, FIXING A PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT UPON SAID HIGHIijAYS AND DRIVEWAYS AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR TIFE VIOLATION THEREOF. The City Council of the City of Lodi, does ordain as follows: 1. That all of that certain park belonging to said City known as "LODI LAKE PARK" is a public playground and a place of public assemblage, and that all the highways and driveways in said park pass places of public assemblage and through such public playground, and that all of said highways and driveways are subject to the provisions of Section 512 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California. 2,. That it shall be prima facie unlawful for any person to operate any vehicle upon any of said highways or driveways at a speed greater than fifteen miles per hour; and the Chief of Police of said City is hereby authorized and directed to erect appropriate signs, along the lines of said highways and driveways, giving notice of such speed limit. 3. Any person who shall violate any of the terms or provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars or by imprisonment in the City or County Jail for not exceeding six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. 4. This ordinance shall be published once in The Lodi News-Sentinel, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in said City, and shall be in effect thirty days from and after its final passage and adoption.
