Ordinance No. 2 3
An ordinance providing for the employment og an Attorney.
The Board of Trustees of thQ City of Lodi do ordain a6
follows:
Section 1.- When No regular attorney at a fixed salary has
been appointed by the Board of Trustees, it i6 hereby
provided, and the said Board is hereby authorized, whenever
in the judgment of a majority of the members of the Board
the advice aBd assistance of an attorney is required by them
in the discharge of their duties, or is necessary to promote
or protect the interests of the City, to retain and employ
for.such purpose or purposes any regular licensed and
practicing Attorney at Law admitted to practice before the
Supreme Court of the State of California and pay him such
fee or compensation as may be just and reasonable. The said
fee or compensation shall be a legal charge against the
City and shall be paid from the general fund.
Section Po- This ordinance shall be published by printing
and posting in at least three public places in the City
of Lodi.
Section 3*- This ordinance shall take effect and be in foroe
az& .immediately upon its passage, approval and publieation;
