AN ORDINANCE A"DING SECTION 2 AND' SEQIOB'3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 167 AND REUTING.TO THEIPADIENT OF CITY TAXES.
The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as
follows :-
Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 167 is hereby
amended to read as follows :
" Section 2 : On or before the first day of October in
each year, the Assessment Roll shall be delivered to the Tax
Collector of the City, who shall, on or before the day when
taxes are payable, publish pa, notice specifying :
(a) That the taxes on all personal property secured by
real property and one-half of the taxes on all real property
will be due on the first day of November, and will be delin-
quent on the fifth day of December next thereafter, at five
o'clock P.M., and that unless paid prior thereto ten per cent
will be added to the amount thereof, and that if the said
one-half be not paid before the twentieth day in April nexfi,
at five o'c1.ock PY,, an additional five per cent will be
added thereto. That the remaining one-half of the taxes on
red property mill be payable on and after the twentieth d8y
of January next,, and will be delinquent on the twentieth day
of April next thereafter, at five o'clock Pa., and that Fless
paid prior thereto, five per cent will be added to the amount
thereof.
(b) That all taxes may be paid at the time liirp the first
installment, as herein provided, is due and payable.
(c) That all taxes are payable at the office of the Tax
Collector. The Tax Collector may fix et date in advance of
the due date when payments may be made.

Section 2. Section 3 of said Ordinance No. 16'7 is
hereby manded to read as follows :
Section 3 : On the fifth day of December of each year,
at five o'clock P.M., all taxes then unpaid, except the last
installment of real property taxes are delinquent, and there-
after the tax collector must collect for the use of the City,
an additional ten per cent thereon; provided, that if they be
not paid before the twentieth day of April next succeeding,
rat five 0' clock P.M. he shall collect an additional fiue
per :cent thereon. On the twentieth day of April of each year,
at five o'clock PY. all the unpaid portion of the remaining
one-half of the taxes on all real property is delinquent,
and thereafter the Tax Collector must collect for the use of
the City, &n additional five per cent thereon; provided,
that the entire tax on any real property may be paid at the
the first installment, as above provided, is due and
payable; and provided further, that the taxes on all personal
property unsecured by real property shall be due and payable
immediately after the assessment of said personal property
is made.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published one the
in The Lodi Sentinel and shall be in force and effect thirty
days from and after its final passage and approval;
