HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - No. 1219ORDINANCE NO. 1219 I AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 622, THEREBY SETTING FORTH A PARKING METER ZONE AND PARKING TIME LIMITS AND PARKING FEES PURSUANT TO PROVISIONS SET FORTH IN ORDINANCE NO. 622 OF THE CITY OF LODI BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Lodi as follows: Section 1. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 622, which Section is entitled, "Establishment of Parking Meter Zones", is hereby amended to read in full as follows: "Section 3 Establishment of Parking Meter Zones" a) The following streets and portions of streets and City-owned off-street parking lots lying within the area herein- after described are hereby designated as parking meter zones: Beginning at the intersection of the northerly line of Lockeford Street with the westerly line of Pleasant Avenue, thence southerly along said westerly line of Pleasant Avenue to the southerly line of Lodi Avenue, thence easterly along said southerly line of Lodi Avenue to the Easterly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way, thence northerly along said easterly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of- way to the northerly line of Lockeford Street, thence westerly along said northerly line of Lockeford Street to the point of beginning. b) The following streets or portions of streets are designated as one-hour parking zones and that meters shall be installed which shall provide for parking at the rate of twelve -1- minutes for each one-cent coin with a maximum parking time of one hour: Sacramento Street from Locust Street to Walnut Street School Street from Locust Street to Lodi Avenue except the east side of said street south from the Oak- Walnut alley to Walnut Street Locust Street from School Street to Sacramento Street Elm Street from Church Street to the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way Pine Street from Church Street to Sacramento Street except for one parking stall at 12 West Pine Street Oak Street from Church Street to sacramento Street Walnut Street from Church Street to Sacramento Street c) The following streets or portions of streets are designated as two-hour parking zones and that meters shall be installed which shall provide for parking at the rate of twelve minutes for each one-cent coin with a maximum parking time of two hours: Church Street from Elm Street to Oak Street Pine Street from Pleasant Avenue to Church Street d) The following portions of streets are designated as twelve-minute parking zones and that meters shqll be installed which shall provide for parking at the rate of twelve minutes for one-cent for a maximum of twelye minutes; said meter spaces shall be designated by painting the curbs a green color: The east side of School Street from the Oak-Walnut alley to Walnut Street One parking stall at 12 West Pine Street e) Parking meters shall be installed on the following City-owned off-street parking lots and for the maximum time limit hereinafter set forth; 1. Parking Lot No. 1 located at the northeast corner of Church and Walnut Streets (Lot 8 and the West 40 feet of Lot 7, Block 8, City of Lodi). Said parking meters shall provide for parking at the rate of five cents an hour for q maximum of five hours. 2. Parking Lot No. 2 located on the south side of Oak Street between School and Church Streets (Lot 2, Block 8, City of Lodi). Said parking meters shall provide for parking at the rate of five cents an hour for a maximum of two hours. 3. Parking Lot No. 3 located on the north side of Oak Street between School and Church Streets (Lot 7, Block 9, City of Lodi). Said parking meters shall provide for parking at the rate of five cents an hour for a maximum of two hours. 4. Parking Lot No. 4 located at the southeast corner of Pine and Church Streets (Lot 1 and West 30 feet of Lot 2, Block 9, City of Lodi). Said parking meters shall provide for parking at the rate of five cents an hour for a maximum of two hours. 5, Parking Lot No. 5 located at the northeast corner of Church and Elm Streets (Lot 8, Lot 7 and West 70 feet of Lot 6, Block 11, City of Lodi), except that no meters shall be in- stalled on the west 196 feet of said lot. The meters herein provided for on the east 34 feet of said lot shall provide parking at the rate of five cents an hour for a maximum of five hours. -3- 6. There is hereby established on the west 196 feet of Parking Lot No. 5 above described 108 parking spaces that shall be rented on a monthly charge payable in advance, The charge for each such parking space shall be $2.50 per month and upon payment of such fee the Finance Director shall issue an approp- riate sticker evidencing payment of said monthly rental. Said sticker shall be prominently displayed "on the rear bumper'' of the vehicle and when so displayed shall entitle said vehicle to park in a stall at this location at any time during the month for which the sticker is issued. Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed insofar as such conflict may exist. Section 3. This ordinance shall be published one time in the "Lodi Life and Times", a daily newspaper of general cir- culation printed and published in the City of Lodi and shall be in force and take effect thirty days from and after its passage and approyal.
