HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - No. 1076ORDINANCE NO. 1076 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 26- 1, 26- l(a), and 26- I(b) OF THE CITY CODE THEREBY PROVIDING FOR AN- INCREASE IN THE RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR WATER SERVICE. The City Council of the City of Lodi does hereby ordain as follows: Section 1. is hereby amended to read in full as follows: "Sec. 26- 1. Section 26- 1 entitled "Rates within City Generally" Rates within city generally. The schedule of water rates for the city shall be as follows per month: .. (a) Flat rates: Single-family residence.. .......................... $6.00 Two-family occupancy (one ownership), per unit.. .... $4.95 Multi-family residence, per unit.. .................. $4.20 >. Adjustments in multi-family rates may be authorized by the director of finance within a limit of twenty-five per cent of the rates established herein, when in his judgment such variations are neces- sary to preserve equity. cent must be authorized by the city council. Adjustments in excess of twenty-five per I (b) Metered rates: First 50,000 cubic feet at $0. 18 per 100 cubic feet. Next 200,000 cubic feet at $0. 15 per 100 cubic feet. All over 250,000 cubic feet at $0. 12 per 100 cubic feet. The minimum monthly bill for supply through a three-fourths inch meter or smaller shall be six dollars; through a one inch meter nine dollars and for each one-half inch increase in size of meter thereafter, three dollars per month. A separate meter shall be required for each dwelling unit, and the charges established herein shall be levied for each such meter. Section 2. The ra:es established by this Ordinance shall be applied to all billings made for water furnished on and after June 1, 1976. Section 3. which revenue is to be applied to the usual and current expenses of the City, and therefore, this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. This Ordinance provides for the increase of water taxes, - 1- Section 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed insofar as such conflict may exist. 'Section 5. This ordinance shall be published one time in the "Lodi News Sentinel", a daily newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in'the City of Lodi.
