Ordinance No. 1.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi do ordain as
follows:
Article 1.
Meetings of the Board of Trustees,
Section l.— The Regular meetings of the Board of Trustees,
of the City of Lodi shall be held on the 1st. and
3rd. Mondays of each and overy,._month, and at such other
times during every year as may by the organic law
or the ordinances of said City provided, Special meetings
of the Board may be called at any time by the President
of the Board oil by any three Trustees by written notice
delivered to each member at least three hours before the
time specified for the proposed pxxpzx meeting.
The hour for all such meetings shall be 7:30 o'clock
P. M. from the first Monday in April to the first Monday
in October of each year and 7 o'clock P. M. for the
remainder of the year. The place of meeting of the
Board of Trustees shall be in the City Hall in the City
of Lodi situated on Sacramento street between Lockeford
and Locust streets, provided, that if for any reason the
City Hall should not be available the President of -the
Board shall have the power'to designate some other place
of meeting within the City, such designation to be made
and notice thereof in writing served upon each member of
the Board at least three hours before the Meeting time.
Publication of Ordinances.
Section 2.— The enacting clause of the City ordinances
shall be "The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi do
ordain as follows".
Every ordinance shall be signed and approved by.-Ahe
President of the Board of Trustees and attested by the
clerk and published at least once in •a newspaper pub—
lished in the City of Lodi or posted in at least three
public places in said city.
Unless otherwise provided all ordinances shall go into
effect one week exclusive of the day of publication or
posting after said ordinance is published or posted as
provided herein., / ,
Qualificatkon of Officers.
Section 3.- Every person elected or appointed to an ofSkT5ce
in the City of Lodi must, within five days after rece�'Uigng
his certificate of election or notice of appointment t
from the Clerk of the City, qualify by taking before e
the City Recorder or any officer entitled to administ@ter
oaths in the State of California the -Constitutional oa6kth
required by the general law of the State, to which shA1411
be added an observance on his part of all ordinances s
of the City of Lodi and a strict performance on his p aINArt
of all his duties as such officer, which oath mast be3e
filed with the Clerk, except the ftakk oath of the Clg.4rk
which must be filed with the president of the Board ofo f
Trustees, and file with said Clerk a bond with two
or more sufficient sureties to be approved by the Boaf4rd
of Trustees, by each and every of said officers in thehe
following penal .sLuris, namely,
City Clerk - One thousand dollars.
City Treasurer - Six thousand dollars.
City Marshal - Twa thousand dollars.
The Bonds of the Clerk shall be filed with and kept byby
the president of the Board of Trustees, and said Boar4rd
may at any time during the term of office of any offiogcrer
of said City require additional or other securities, toto
any such bonds.
Section 4.- This ordinance shall be published by postiAsng
Fa the same in three public places in the City of Lodi..i.
Section 5.- This ordinance shall take effect immediateUly
on approval and publication.
Section 6.- All ordinances -and parts of ordinances in n
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
