AGENDA TITLE: Presentation by the Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission
regarding Honoring Teens program.
MEETING DATE: September 17, 1997

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Presentation.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission, in
conjunction with the Lodi Sunrise Rotary Club and Christopher J. Olsen, American
Express Financial Advisors, is sponsoring a program entitled Honoring Teens. The
Lodi Youth Commission Leadership Committee selects one teen to be awarded Teen of
the Month from the applications submitted to the commission from the general public,
various schools, and church groups. This months Teen of the Month is Aaron Lange, a
Senior at Lodi High School. The Honorary recipient is Megan August from Tokay High_

Honoring Teens - Teen of the Month - September 17, 1997
Bios for City Council
Teen of the Month: Aaron Lange, Lodi High School, receiving this months award for
his academic, ethical and leadership abilities. Aaron was responsible for all aspects of
the Lodi High School Freshman Orientation experience - LINK Crew. He was the
backbone of this program ;and it is a result of his efforts that the program was a
tremendous success along with being a top academic student.
Honorary Teen of the Month: Megan August, Tokay High School, is in honors
classes, three sports, nominated last year for Rotary Camp Royal, 3.9 G.P.A., always
willing to help and participate. She is a great role model. She is assisting as student
representative for Bio -technology and holds Varsity letters in water polo, swimming and
basketball.
