HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - No. 1611ORDINANCE NO. 161 1 AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI AMENDING CHAPTER 2.24 OF THE LODI MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 2.24.030, RELATING TO STANDARDS AND TRAINING FOR CORRECTIONS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI AS FOLLOWS: SCTION L Chapter 2.24 - Peace Officer Training - is hereby amended by adding thereto a new Section 2.24.030, relating to Standards and Training for Corrections to read as follows: The City declares that it desires to qualify to receive aid from the State under the provisions of Chapter 5, Title 7, Part 3 of the California Penal Code, relative to Corrections Training Fund. While receiving any State aid pursuant to Article 3, commencing with 86040 of the California Penal Code, the City of Lodi will adhere to the standards for selection and training established by the Board of Corrections. SECTION2 Because of time limits on the availability of State funding for this program, this ordinance is adopted as an urgency ordinance under Government Code 636934, based on health, safety and welfare considerations arising from the City’s desire to qualify to receive aid from the State under the provisions of Chapter 5, Title 7, Part 3 of the California Penal Code, relative to Corrections Training Fund. SECTION 3 . All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed insofar as such conflict may exist. SCTION 4- This ordinance shall be published one time in the “Lodi News Sentinel”, a daily newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Lodi and shall be in force and take effect immediately after its passage and approval.
