BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Each year, there is a coordinated effort between the City of Lodi,
California Waste Systems, the Lodi News -Sentinel, local businesses and
neighborhood and community-based organizations to plan activities that
relate to the annual Spring Clean -Up under the banner of "City Wide
Community Pride."
This year's activities were kicked off on May 16th and 17th with the City Wide Yard Sale. Residents of Lodi were
invited to clear their closets and garages of any unwanted items in this city wide event, which in recent years has
drawn people from as far away as Fresno, Amador County and Sacramento.
Lodi's Spring Clean -Up continues with the following upcoming activities:
"Customer Appreciation Day" at California Waste System's Transfer Station, 1333 E. Turner Road, on May
30th, will feature reduced dump rates for Lodi's residential customers.
"Residential Curbside Pick -Up" will be on June 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th. On the normal garbage pick-up day
throughout Lodi, California Waste Systems will be hauling away bagged, bundled or containerized items
equal to six (6) 32 -gallon containers per residence.
The "Last Chance Dumpster Drop Off" for Lodi residents only at two locations in Lodi, Lodi Middle School
parking lot, 945 S. Ham Lane, and the Grape Bowl north parking lot, located to the south of Lawrence
School and accessed from Stockton Street, will have dumpsters available to allow residents to dump
larger items such as appliances, water heaters and furniture, and provide one last chance for anyone who
might have missed their curbside pick-up.
