SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3, 2013
A. Call to Order / Roll Call
The Special meeting of April 3, 2013, was called to order by Mayor Nakanishi at 7:20 p.m.
Present: Council Member Hansen, Council Member Johnson, Council Member Mounce, Mayor
Pro Tempore Katzakian, and Mayor Nakanishi
Absent: None
Also Present: City Manager Bartlam, City Attorney Schwabauer, and City Clerk Johl
B. Reaular Calendar
B-1 Consider Finding a Public Works Emergency Exists Requiring the Immediate Repair of
Blakely Pool Circulation System and Adopt Resolution Authorizing City Manager to Enter
Into Contract with Paragon Pools of Lodi to Repair the System (Not To Exceed $20,000)
Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Director Jeff Hood provided a brief report regarding the
need for emergency services and repairs at Blakely Pool as set forth in the staff report.
In response to Council Member Johnson, Mr. Hood stated request for additional funds will come
back to Council if necessary.
In response to Council Member Mounce, City Manager Bartlam stated funds from the capital
improvement contingency fund could be used if necessary to supplement the repairs.
In response to Mayor Nakanishi, Mr. Bartlam stated similar issues do occur with private pools and
the City does not have any liability for private pools.
Council Member Mounce made a motion, second by Council Member Johnson, to find a Public
Works emergency exists requiring the immediate repair of Blakely Pool circulation system and
adopt Resolution No. 2013-54 authorizing the City Manager to enter into contract with Paragon
Pools, of Lodi, to repair the system in an amount not to exceed $20,000.

The above motion carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Council Member Hansen, Council Member Johnson, Council Member Mounce, Mayor
Pro Tempore Katzakian, and Mayor Nakanishi
Noes: None
Absent: None
C. Adjournment
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
