HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - April 1, 1998 (53)AGENDA TITLE: Award Contract for Concession Operations at Armory and Softball Complex
MEETING DATE: April 1, 1998
PREPARED BY: Parks and Recreation Director
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolution awarding the contract
for concession operations at Armory and Softball Complex to Food and
Fun Concessions of Stockton for the period April 10, 1998 through
December 31, 2000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On March 4, 1998, City Council authorized the solicitation of
proposals for operation of the concession stands at Armory Park
and the Softball Complex for the period April 10, 1998 through
December 31, 2000. One proposal was received by the March 19,
1998 deadline.
The proposal was evaluated on the basis of experience in concession operations, reputation, and
percentage of gross receipts returned to the City. The experience and reputation offered by Food and
Fun Concessions suggests that the best interest of the City would be well served at the 27% (Softball
Complex) and 12% (Armory) rate of return proposed by Food and Fun.
Having operated concessions at the Lodi complex for the last five years, Food and Fun Concessions has
shown the ability to provide high-quality food and service in a professional manner while offering a
reasonable rate of return. For this reason, staff recommends that the City Council award the contract to
Food and Fun Concessions for the operation of concessions at Armory and Softball Complex.
FUNDING: None required. The operation wil en rate rev nue f t City of Lodi.
