Monday,November 3-1924
The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi met in reg-
ular session at 8.00 o'clock P.M. on the above date, Trustees
Hale, Mettler, Roach and Shattuck present; President Spooner
being absent on account of illness, Trustee Shattuck was
unanimously chosen to preside.
The minutes of the regular meeting of October loth
were read and approved.
J.R.Lucas and others petitioned the Board to extend
sewer facilities to Poplar Street .est of Central Avenue.
This matter was referred to committee of the whole to vier
the proposed extension at 10 o'clock on the 'Tuesday fol-
lowing.
A favorable rejort on the operation of the sewage
disposal plant was received from the State Board of Health.
Reports of the Varshal and Poundmaster were read and
ordered filed.
P.H.Morison applied for the position of truck driver
in the fire department.
',lilliam Inch, Principal of the Lodi Union High School
applied for additional police during foot ball games, ref-
erred to J.B.Roach of the Committee on Public Health and
Safety.
The "Fyr righter" company's representative presented
a proposed plan for installation of hand extinguishers at
the sewage disposal plant anf on motion of Trustee Mettler,
Supt, Henning was authorized to purchase four extinguishers
for that plant and one for the 'Nater `4orks.
J.B.Heon applied in person and by letter for permis-
sion to erect -a clothes cleaning plant at 412 S. School
with the priviledge of storing gasoline; Tire Chief Stark
recommended against the plant for several reasons and the
matter was referred to committee of the whole to view the
plant on the succeding day at 10 A.M.
City Engineer, L.F.Barzellotti, as delegate to the
convention of the League of California` municipalities ren-
dered a complete written report of the convention.
Sixteen building permits grossing '310,675.00 were
granted, the a)plication of Nary A. Acker for a permit to
build on '7. Daisy Avenue %Yas laid over until the next
meeting.
0n notion of Trastee Hale, seconded by 'Trustee
Mettler, bills amounting to $9,147.19 were .allowed as
audited and ordered paid.
- The Board adjourned on motion of Trustee Mettler.
