INFORMAL INFORMATIONAL MEETING
"SHIRTSLEEVE" SESSION

An Informal Informational Meeting ("Shirtsleeve" Session) of the Lodi City Council was held Tuesday,
May 30, 2000 commencing at 7:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL
Present: Council Members — Hitchcock Land, Nakanishi,' Pennino and Mann (Mayor)
Absent: Council Members — None
Also Present: City Manager Flynn, Deputy City Manager Keeler, Finance Director McAthie,
Information Systems Manager Helmle, Community Development Director Bartlam,
Public Works Director Prima, Parks and Recreation Director Williamson, Fire Chief
Kenley, Electric Utility Director Vallow, Library Services Director Martinez, Community
Center Director Lange, City Attorney Hays and Interim City Clerk Taylor
Also present was a representative from the Lodi News Sentinel and The Record.

No action was taken by the City Council. The meeting was adjourned at approximately 7:50 a.m.

AGENDA TITLE: Budget Review
MEETING DATE: May 30, 2000
SUBMITTED BY: Deputy City Manager and Finance Director
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That Council review with staff the 1999-01 Financial Plan and
Budget (City Manager Recommended Adjustments to Tentatively Approved 2000-01 Significant
Expenditure & Capital Requests).
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:On May 22, 2000 Council reviewed with staff the City
Manager's recommended Significant Expenditure Requests (SERs) adjustments to the tentatively
approved 2000-01 budget.
During the May 30, 2000 Shirtsleeve, staff will review with Council the following Capital Request
adjustments:
1. Establishment of a Designated Reserve for the Public Safety Building
2. Adjustment to the Capital Maintenance for the White Slough Water Pollution Control Facility
3. Electrical Upgrade for the Softball Complex
4. Electrical Upgrade for the Armory Park
5. Lease or lease purchase of a modular building for Parks and Recreation
6. Master Plan for the Grape Bowl
7. Construction of a skate park
8. Acquisition of a copier for Community Development
9. Acquisition of a copier for Public Works
The Fund Balance will be presented in its entirety during the June 6, 2000 Shirtsleeve Session.
Staff is available to meet individually with Council members to review any information thus far
distributed regarding the budget.
