HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - January 21, 1998 E-07AGENDA TITLE: Specifications and Advertisement for Bids for 1998 Sidewalk Repair Program and
Miscellaneous Concrete Work
MEETING DATE: January 21, 1998
PREPARED BY: Public Works Director
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the specifications for the above project and
authorize advertising for bids.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project will provide the City with a unit -price bid for removing
and replacing curb, gutter and sidewalk in various locations
throughout the city. This is an annual contract and will be used to
administer the sidewalk repair program and to repair bad curb and
gutter as needed during 1998. A clause in the specifications will allow the City to extend the contract an
additional year if it is mutually agreed upon by City staff and the contractor. An increase in concrete
prices during the past few months prevented Popuch Concrete, the City's contractor for the 1997
Sidewalk Repair Program and Miscellaneous Concrete Work Project, from being able to extend the 1997
contract into 1998. Purchase orders will be issued for the work to be done.
Specifications are on file in the Public Works Department.
FUNDING: The money for this project will be coming from the Gas Tax Fund.
