HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - January 3, 1910Public Hall, Lodi, California, Jan 3, 1910 The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in the regular session, Pres. G. E. Lawrence presiding and the following other members of the Board being present: J. M. Blodgett, F. O. Hale, C. A. Rich and L. Villinger. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The Report of the City Marshal for the month of December was read and approved. A letter from Roadmaster W. H. Burgress in regard to the matter of trains violating the City Ordinances and in regard to gravel for Oak St. was read and filed. A Communication from H. F. Mason reporting violations of the Speed Ordinance during the past week was read and filed to be taken up at the next meeting. Julius Bogden was granted a permit to erect a tank house on Daisy Ave. The Japanese Association of L. A. W. enclosed a series of resolutions to the Clerk A petition for a St. light at the corner of Pine St. and Cherokee St. was read and on motion the petition was granted. In regard to the application of C. D. and J. W. Russill for a Saloon License: The Report of the Committee of the Whole which had been read and laid on the table on Dec. 20 was taken up and read. Elwood Van Vanken, Esq. And Hon. R. L. Beardsley on behalf of the petitioners asked that the application be laid on the table until some specified date. It was moved, seconded and carried by a unanimous vote that the report of the Committee of the Whole be accepted as read. In regard to the old M. E. Parsonage obstructing the street, it appeared to be the opinion of the Board that the St. Supt. order the same removed. Breitenbucker of $175 for Const on sites of Sewer and Water and Light Plants was laid on the table. It was moved, seconded and carried that the services of the St. Sweeper be dispensed with.
