The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in adjourned regular session,
pursuant to adjournment of Dec. 20, 1909, President G. E. Lawrence presiding and the
following other members of the Board being present:
J. M. Blodgett, F. 0. Hale, L. Villinger and C. A. Rich
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Supervisor C. L. Newton appeared before the Board in relation to the matter of re-
precincting the City of Lodi. Asked if the Board desired that the City of Lodi be
precincts separate from contiguous territory.
It appeared to be the opinion of the Board that the City of Lodi be embraced in two
precincts, known as North Lodi & South Lodi and that no outside territory be embraced
in said precincts.
S. A. Supt. H. B. Coleman informed the Board that A. C. Breitenbucker desired to
remove every other Elm tree from in front of his property on School St. Upon motion
duly carried the matter was left to the discretion of the St. Supt.
A petition for a St. Light at the corner of Lodi and Central Ave. was read and upon
motion duly carried, a 32 c.p. light was ordered placed there.
A letter from H. T. Mason calling the attention of the Board to the speed of S. P. Motor
Cars through the City of Lodi on Dec. 2,1 23, & 24
It was moved, seconded and carried that the City Clerk be instructed to communicate
with the S. P. Co. calling their attention to the provisions of our ordinances both as to
trains and to obstructions of crossings, citing the salient points of Mr. Masons
communication and stating that hereafter, the ordinances will be enforced.
The City Clerk was instructed to communicate with Hon. E. I. Jones in regard to the best
manner of improving Sacramento St., and asking for his opinion as to the rights of the S.
P. Co. in regard to that.
