HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - January 21, 1998 E-05AGENDA TITLE: Specifications and Advertisement of Bids for Parks Division Maintenance Equipment MEETING DATE: January 21, 1998 PREPARED BY: Parks and Recreation Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the specifications for a top dresser (soil spreader) and authorize advertising of bids. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This piece of equipment distributes a layer of mixed soils (organic, sand, etc.) which fills in and levels turf fields to improve soil drainage and stimulate turf growth. This machine will distribute soil in a five-foot wide pattern up to two and one-half inches deep. Present practices require manual labor to spread soil by hand which is very labor intensive. Purchase of this piece of equipment was approved in the 1997/98 Parks Division operating budget.
