HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - August 9, 1909Public Hall, Lodi, California, Aug. 9, 1909 The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in adjourned in regular session, pursuant to adjournment of Aug. 2, 1909, President G. E. Lawrence presiding and the following other members of the Board of Trustees being present: J. M. Blodgett, F. O. Hale, C. A. Rich and L. Villinger. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. An application of L. D. Powell for permission to erect a wood shed and Washroom on his property on S. School St. was read and granted. Application of H. M. Boden for permission to erect a dwelling on Lt. 17 of Block 45 Ivory's Add. A communication from J. L. Pickering in regard to painting and sign work was read and filed. A communication from residents of the Burr Addition protesting against the J. K. Nay dairy was red and referred to the Board of Health. City Marshal, H. B. Coleman was granted a leave of absence from the City for ten days from Aug. 11, 1909. Ordinance No 40, Entitled, "An Ordinance Regulating the Speed of Animals, Wagons, Buggies, Carriages, Sulkies, Bicycles, Automobiles, Motor Cars, Railroad Cars, Cars, Locomotives, Motor Vehicles, and Other Vehicles In, On, Along or across Public Streets or Ways: and Repealing Sections Seven and Eleven of Ordinance No. Nine; and Partially Repealing Section One of Ordinance No. Seventeen," having been introduced on Aug. 2, was read and placed on passage. It was moved by Trustee F. O. Hale, and seconded by Trustee C. A. Rich that Ordinance No. 40 be adopted as read. The motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes: J. M. Blodgett, F. O. Hale, G. E. Lawrence, C. A. Rich and L. Villinger. Noes: None Absent: None Whereupon said Ordinance no. 40 was signed and approved by the President of the Board of Trustees and attested by the City Clerk. In the matter of numbering houses, F. O. Hale was appointed to appoint an official numberer and have the numbering done at once. In the matter of having proper signs placed on all streets and railroads entering the City, the matter was left in the hands of the Committee Hale and Villinger. 220 It was moved, seconded, and carried that this Board do now adjourn to reconvene on Saturday, Aug. 14, 1909 at 8 o'clock p.m. So Ordered Attest: J.
