The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular session, President Geo. E.
Lawrence presiding and the following other members of the Board being present: J. M.
Blodgett, F. O. Hale, C. A. Rich and L. Villinger.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The following applications for building permits were read and granted:
A. A. Mayes, Tank House, 416 North Church Street
H. B. Stannard, Dwelling, Lot 13, Hutchins add.
Scott Robbins, addition to and repairing barn on Lot 2, Block 25, 106 E. Walnut Street.
To erect roof over platform of Fruit Shed on Lot 1 Block 21.
By a motion regularly moved, seconded and carried, the application of D. W. Aronhalt to
erect a dwelling on Lot 4 of Block 9, Ayers and Pitchers add., corner School St. and
Deforce Ave. was laid over for one week.
Ordinance No 39:
An ordinance amending Section 5 of Ordinance No. 4, Ordinance of the City of Lodi,
relating to slops of all garbage and other offensive matter coming from restaurants,
houses, stores, and other buildings having been read and introduced and a having been
laid on the table for not less than five days on May 10`h was read and upon motion
regularly moved, seconded and carried, Ordinance No. 39 was adopted as read by the
following vote:
Ayes: J. M. Blodgett, F. O. Hale, C. A. Rich and L. Villinger.
Two Bids were received for street sprinkling, one from F. F. Ivey in which he stated he
would furnish a man and four horses for the season of 1909, for the sum of $4.85 per day,
and one from Leland W. Shidy of Acampo who agreed to do the same for the sum of
$4.95 per day.
Upon motion regularly moved, seconded and carried unanimously, the bid of F. F. Ivey
was accepted.
Upon motion regularly moved, seconded and carried unanimously the following
invitation was extended to the Grand Lodge of Eagles: The City of Lodi extends its
hospitality to the Grand Lodge of Eagles for one day during session in Stockton, 1910.
It was moved, seconded and carried that the Board do now adjourn to reconvene on
Monday, May 24, 1909.
