The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in adjourned regular session pursuant
to adjournment of Apr. 19, 1909 the following Trustees being present: J. M. Blodgett, F.
0. Hale, C. A. rich and L. Villinger.
Trustee J. M. Blodgett was unanimously chosen President Pro -Tem
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The Application of J. B. Dennis for Permission to erect a frame dwelling on Lots 5 of
Block 6, E. Lodi Add. was read and granted.
The Application of 0. H. Mattley having been referred to the Board for a Merry go
Round License on the Sabbath were read and filed.
Mr. W. W. Henderson spoke against the Granting of the License and Mr. 0. H. Mattley
in favor of the License.
The matter of applying for Free Delivery System for Lodi was discussed and it was
moved that the Clerk be instructed to formulate a suitable resolution making application
to the First Assistant Post Master General, Division free Delivery, for a Free Delivery for
the City of Lodi. The motion was seconded and carried.
It was moved that we buy a wagon according to specifications, as follows: #254, 2 1/8 X
2 3/8 axle; 600 gallons; Drad Axle; Cut Under Sprinkling Wagon with California Steel
Tank; #12 Shell; #10 Head, 5/16" Rivets, Equipped with Niagara Attachment: Wood Hub
Wheels, bored and tubed; Complete with 6" Tires, Extended Hind Axle and Brake on
Steel Frame; Fl 0; B; Care San Francisco for $480: Ninety Days. The motion was
seconded and carried, and a contract was entered into accordingly.
The Clerk was instructed to write the Manager S. B. McLenegan of the Traction Co. to
repair the trax on the streets of Lodi.
It was moved and seconded that the water wagon be put in repair and painted. Carried
and so ordered.
It was ordered that the City Clerk go to Stockton tomorrow and consult Judge Jones in
regard to the Merry Go Round License which application was referred to the Board by
the City Clerk.
It was moved and seconded that this Board adjourn to reconvene on Tuesday evening
Apr. 27, 1909. Carried and so ordered.
