HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - April 12, 1909Public Hall, Lodi, California, Apr. 12, 1909 The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in adjourned regular session pursuant to adjournment of Apr. 5, 1909, President Geo. E. Lawrence presiding and the following other members of the Board being present: J. M. Blodgett, F. O. Hale, C. A. Rich and L. Villinger. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mr. J. W. Dougherty asked the Board to consider the matter of pumping sewage during the daytime, claiming that that would be the best time sewage. The Application of H. A. Lee for permission to erect a shed on W. Lodi Avenue near Sacramento Street was canceled at the request of the applicant. The following Applications for Building Permits were read and granted: A. Bauer, Addition to Dwelling on S. School St. C. H. Guyon, Porch in Front of Office on S. Sac. St. W. H. Burkholder, Barn on Lot 6 of Block 9, E. Lodi Addition Keagle Bros., Permit to Place Bocoser Gasoline Pump on Sidewalk line on W. Side of Their Store. Max Elwert Permission to cut a Conk Elm Tree in Front of his Lot on W. Elm St. The following claims against the City having been read and laid on the table on Apr. 5, were read, allowed and ordered paid: Lodi Sentinel, Printing and Publishing 38.05 Henderson Bros. Co., Hardware 1.00 A. O. Krumb, Nozzle 0.50 Total Claims Allowed 39.55 C. L. Van Buskirk presented a claim against the City for $60 for dirt for streets furnished in 1907, which claim was laid on the table till the first meeting in May. Ordinance No. 37, having been read and introduced and laid on the table on Apr. 5, 1909, was taken up and read and placed on passage. It was regularly moved and seconded that Ordinance No. 37 be adopted as read. The motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes: J. M. Blodgett, F. O. Hale, C. A. Rich and L. Villinger. Noes: None Ordinance No 38 entitled, "Ordinance No. 38, Relating to Streets; Defining Certain Terms as Officially Used: Fixing the Location of the Curb Line and Thereby the Width of the Roadway and Sidewalk Space, and Fixing the Width of the Sidewalk and Tree Space," was read and a motion regularly made and seconded that the Ordinance No. 38 196 be introduced and laid on the table for not less than five days exclusive of the day of introduction.
