The Board of trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular session the following
Trustees being present: J. M. Blodgett, F. 0. Hale, C. A. Rich, and L. Villinger. Absent;
G. E Lawrence.
F. 0. Hale was elected President Pro -Tem.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The following applications for building Permits were read and granted:
Ed. Hutchins, Barn and Woodshed, Lots 1 & 2 of Block 2, Hutchins Add.
Henry Perrin, Dwelling, Lot 2 of Block 3 E. Lodi Add.
L. E. McClung, Dwelling Lot 24 of Block 1, West Lodi Add.
Max Kuessner, Sheds, Lot 8 Block 12, provided sheds are built adjacent to alley.
The Program of the League of California Municipalities was read.
Resolution of Intention to Close Portions of Certain Streets in the City of Lodi.
Be it resolved that it is the intention of this City Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, to
order the following work to be done and improvements made, namely, to close up
portions of certain streets situated within the corporate limits of the City of Lodi,
described as follows: The East and the West ten (10) feet of that portion of Pleasant
Avenue, lying and running between Lockeford Street and the Northern boundary line of
said City of Lodi; also the North and South twenty (20) feet of that portion of
Woodbridge Avenue, lying and running between the West of Pleasant Avenue and the
Western boundary of line of the City of Lodi, according to the official map on plat of the
former town (now City) of Lodi on file in the office of the County Recorder of San
Joaquin County, and according to the official map of the City of Lodi approved and
declared to be the official map of Lodi, San Joaquin, California, by order of this Board of
Trustees on the 2nd day of March, A. D. 1908.
The following is a description of the land deemed necessary to be taken therefore namely;
the East and the West ten (10) feet of that portion of Pleasant Avenue, lying and running
between and the Northern boundary line of the said City of Lodi, also the North and the
South twenty (20) feet of that portion of Woodbridge Avenue lying and running between
the West line of Pleasant Avenue and the Western Boundary line of the City of Lodi
according to the official map of plat of the former town (now city) of Lodi on file in the
office of the County Recorder of San Joaquin County and according tot he official map
of the City of Lodi, San Joaquin County, California, by order of this Board of Trustees on
the 2nd day of March. A. D. 1908
That the exterior boundaries of the districts of lands to be affected and benefited by said
work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the damages, costs and expenses
thereon an as follows to wit:

Commencing at a point in the South line of Louie Avenue Two Hundred and Forty (240)
feet East of the center line of Pleasant Avenue and running thence South, parallel with
said center line of Pleasant Avenue to the North line of Lockeford Street; thence West
along the North line of Lockeford Street to a point in said line Three Hundred (300) feet
West of the center line of Pleasant Avenue; thence North and parallel with the center line
of Pleasant Avenue to the South line of Daisy Avenue; thence East along said South line
of Daisy Avenue , to a point in said South line One Hundred Two and a Half (102 1/2) feet
West of the Center line of Pleasant Avenue; thence North Two Hundred and Sixty (260)
feet to the North line of an alley; thence West along the North line of said alley to the
Western boundary line of the City of Lodi; thence North along said Western boundary
line of the City of Lodi Two Hundred and Ninety (290) feet to the South line of an alley
in Block two (2) in Forrest addition of said City of Lodi; thence East and parallel to the
Northern Boundary line of the City of Lodi to a point One Hundred and Two and a Half
(102 1/2) feet West of the center line of Pleasant Avenue; thence North to the Northern
Boundary line of the City of Lodi; thence East along said Northern boundary line to the
point of beginning, all according to the maps or plats herein before mentioned.
That The Herald, a daily newspaper, a general circulation in the City of Lodi, is hereby
designated as the paper in which notice hereof shall be published.
That this Board of Trustees in the prosecution of the work to be done and the
improvements to be made, as herein set forth elect to proceed under the provisions of an
act entitled, "To provide for laying out, opening, extending, widening, straightening or
closing up, in whole or in part, any street square, lane, court, or place within
municipalities and to condemn necessary or convenient for that purpose," approved
March 6th, 1889. (Stats. 1889, ch. L. XXVI) Dated October 12th, A. D. 1908.

It was regularly moved and seconded that the foregoing resolution be adopted as read.
The motion was carried by the affirmative votes of Rich, Blodgett, and Villinger.
It was now seconded and carried that this Board do now adjourn to reconvene on Monday
evening, Nov. 23, 1908. So Ordered
