HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - September 28, 1908Public Hall, Lodi California, Sept. 28, 1908 The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in adjourned regular session, pursuant to adjournment of Sept 21, 1908, President G. E. Lawrence presiding and the following other members of the Board being present: J. M. Blodgett, F. 0. Hale, L. Villinger and C. A. Rich. The minutes of the previous meeting were read an approved. The application of Carl Ulmar for Permission to erect a Tank House on Block 1 of Ayers & Pitchers addition was read and granted. The application of Mattley and Jones for a License to run a merry-go-round at the corner of Sacramento and Walnut Streets, having been referred to the Board by the City Clerk, was read and it was moved, seconded and carried that the License be issued with the understanding that the Licensee be required to pay all back licenses. Fire Chief H. E. Welch stated that he had tested the fire hose and found that there was 600 ft. of good hose and about 350 ft. of damaged hose. He recommended the purchase of 400 to 500 ft. of new hose and the sale of the old hose. It was moved, seconded and carried that the Fire Chief be instructed to purchased for the City 500 ft. of new hose and sell the damaged hose. W. P. Lancaster appeared before the Board on reference to the naming of Pleasant Avenue stating that the property owners along the Avenue would pay the expenses of the Board in the necessary proceedings except the $50 attorneys fees. It was moved, seconded and carried that T. W. Gehan be permitted to remove the two dead trees from in front of his lot on W. Locust St. The Board then adjourned. Attest: J. M. McMahon City Clerk 163
