The Board of Trustee of the City of Lodi convened in adjourned regular session pursuant
to adjournment of Sept. 8, 1908, President G. E. Lawrence presiding, and the following
other members of the Board being present: J. M. Blodgett, F. 0. Hale, C. A. Rich, and
Leon Villinger.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The following applications for Building Permits were read and granted:
Chas. Williams, Addition to Dwelling of Jms. Greggolz
Henry Pope, Dwelling on E. Elm
Geo. Brown, Barn on lot 13, of Block 3 E. Lodi Add.
G. C. Putnam, Barn on lot 5 & 6 Block 8
Mr. J. W. Dougherty spoke on behalf of the Eagles' Carnival Committee and stated that
the Committee would want favorable consideration of the Board in certain matters. He
was informed that if the Committee would submit their desires in writing and present the
same to the Board, the Board would grant all reasonable requests.
W. H. Lorenz and G. C. Putman appeared on behalf of the West Pine St. Improvement
club and stated that they desired relief from the dust in that part of town.
D. D. Smith complained of the fact that he pipe carrying drainage water across School St.
at Pine was blocked up by the sand and dirt, causing the water to overflow.
Mr. Putnam stated that the Street Sweeper did not remove rocks and sand from the street,
simply taking the manure.
The Board agreed to have the sand removed from that part of the street and try sprinkling
it twice a day, and the Supt. of Streets was directed to act accordingly.
The Board then adjourned.
