HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - June 15, 1908Public Hall, Lodi, California, June 15, 1908 The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular session, Pres. G. E. Lawrence presiding and the other members of the Board as follows being present: J. M. Blodgett, C. A. Rich and Leon Villinger, Absent; F. O. Hale The Minutes of the meeting of June 8, 1908 were read and approved. Gen. Manager, S. B. McLeneguard of the Central California Traction Co., and Attorney S. F. Louttet, appeared before the Board and presented a petition asking for franchise to lay and maintain a spur Tract from the corner of Sacramento St. and Lodi Ave. to the Lodi Winery. The Petition was read and filed. Ordinance No. 34, entitled, "An Ordinance Granting to Central California Traction Company, A Corporation a Franchise for a Switch in the City of Lodi, California, was read. It was moved and seconded that Ordinance No. 34 granting the central California Traction Co. a franchise in accordance with the application this day filed be passed. It was moved, & seconded that the matter of the passage of Ordinance No. 34 be laid on the table until the next regular meeting of the Board. The motion was carried and so ordered. The following Applications for Building Permits were read and granted; Larsen, A. J. Second Story to Building on N. Sac. St. Lot 2, Block 20 Haney, W. R. Barn on Lot 10 of Block 4 Henning, Jms. A. Building on Lot 12 of Block 1 The application of C. L. VanBuskins for permission to erect a frame building on Lots 3 & 4 of Block 9 was laid on the table. Permission was granted to C. E. Perryman to F. C. Roso and to Wouchope Bros. to carry a stock of not to exceed 200# of fire works at their usual place of business. The following claims against the City, having been laid on the table at a previous meeting, were taken up, allowed and ordered paid. Hamilson, M. Night Watching 2.00 Northern Hdw. Co. Hardware 1.55 Lupton, Wm. Blacksmithing 11.95 Total Claims allowed 15.50 Communications of Samson Iron Works and N. W. Harris & Co. were read & filed. 140 Moved and seconded that the City Clerk be granted a two weeks leave of absence from June 16, 1908 It was regularly moved and seconded that this Board do now adjourn to reconvene on Wednesday evening, June 17, 1908.
