The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in adjourned regular session pursuant
to adjourmnent of June 1, 1908, President G. E. Lawrence presiding and the following
other members of the board being present: M. Blodgett, F. O. Hale, C A. Rich and Leon
Villinger.
The minutes of the meeting of June 1, 1908 were read and approved.
The following Applications for Building Permits were read and granted;
J. W. Heib, Cement Bldg. & Pipe Factory on N. Sacto. St.
L. B. McChung, Dwelling for Mrs. Macintosh on Lot 17 of Block 17
Lodi Fruit Products Co., Building on Barnhart Tract.
W. A. Shinn, Permission to Move Barn from Lot 15 to 14 block 24
The following claims against the City were read, allowed and ordered paid:
Colman, F. W. Fumigating 41.00
Graham, J. A. Setting Grade Stakes 16.00
Nay, J. K. Street Sweeping for May 45.00
Total Claims ordered paid 102.00
The claim of W. H. Lorenz of $938 for the amt. Advanced to pay the balance of purchase
price of the Site of Sewer Plant was read and it was moved, seconded and carred that the
claim be allowed, but not paid till after the first of July, 1908.
Thos. P. Curran, reporting Richardson Bros. Safe Co., repeated the proposition made at
the previous meeting by Mr. Ferber of the same Co. to furnish a No. 28 Clary Safe
slightly used for $425 subject to 5% discount if paid within 60 days or net by Dec. 30,
1908.
It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that we purchase the No. 28 Cary Safe for
$425. It was so ordered.
A petition signed by several residents of Southern Lodi protesting against the purchase of
Osborne property for a Site for the water and Light Plant was read:
Dr. S. W. Hopkins and W. O. Corbin spoke in support of the petition.
The petition was referred to the Committee of the Whole.
No further business coming before the Board the Board then adjourned.
