HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - March 9, 1908Public Hall, Lodi, California, Mar. 9, 1908 The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in the adjourned regular session, President Geo. E. Lawrence presiding and the following other Trustees being present: J. M. Blodgett, F. O. Hale, C. A. Rich, & L. Villinger. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. The following Applications for Building Permits were read and granted: C. D. White, Dwelling on Lot 1 of Block 18 D. R. Ford, Chicken House, Lot 10 of Block 6 F. F. Ivey, Dwelling, Lot 5 of Block 43 C. A. Sandberg, Barn, Lot 14 of Block 7 Mrs. Seth Sovereijn, Dwelling on Lot 10 of Block 2 H. M. Boden and C. E. Willard were present. A. S. Anderson mentioned the subject of a safe and submitted a cut and price. Matter laid on table for the present. A. E. Deutschke called the attention of the Board to the practice of some parties keeping wagons, etc. on the St. in the vicinity of Stockton & Oak St. Resolution No. 9 Resolution No. 9, having been read and introduced on Mar.21, was read and placed on passage. It was moved by Trustee, C. A. Rich and seconded by Trustee L. Villinger that resolution be adopted as read. The motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes; J. M. Blodgett, F. O. Hale, C. A. Rich and L. Villinger. Noes: None So ordered. President Lawrence reported having taken up the question of site of a Water and Light Plant and having referred the matter back to the Board. A general discussion was then entered into and it appeared to be the consensus of opinion of those present that the proper or most available site was the Osborne lot at the corner of Sacramento St., and Lodi Ave. The sites under discussion being the Osborne lot of 100 ft. on Sac. St., 17 ft. deep, and 185 ft. along the railroad for $2500; The Bernhart Tract Lot opposite the Osborne Lot 120 ft. wide and about 600 ft. deep for $4000 per acre; and the Kerney Lifts at Railroad Ave. and Cherokee Lane at $225 per lot. 110 It was moved by F. O. Hale, seconded by L. Villinger that the Osborne Tract be considered as the basis of estimate for a Water & Light Plant. Carried and so ordered.
