The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular Session, President G. E.
Lawrence presiding and the following Trustees being present: J. M. Blodgett, F. 0. Hale,
and C.A. Rich.
Absent: L. Villinger.
The minutes of the meeting of Nov. 4 were read and approved as read.
The following Applications for Building Permits were read and granted.

Communication of Merritt & Co. was read and filed.
Dr. S. W. Hopkins called the attention of the Board to the fact that the Central California
Traction Co. had, in grading around the curve from Sacramento St. into Lodi Ave.
blocked the natural outlet for water; and states that unless the matter were remedied, the
property of himself and others would be flooded this winter. The matter was referred to
Supt. of Streets, H. B. Coleman.
The petition of McCarty & Hopkins for permission to erect scales was granted with the
proviso that the South End of Said Scales be not less than 35 ft. from the inner line of the
Sidewalk of Pine St.
C. A. Rich was appointed a Committee of one to have the City Hall furniture repaired.
F. A. Dougherty called the attention of the Board to the freight depot being maintained by
the Traction Co. in front of residence property on West Locust St. The matter was
referred to the Supt. of Streets.
H. M. Boden, Agent of the Western Gas Engine Company addressed the Board in favor
of a municipal Water and Light Plant, and later Mr. Willard of the above Company
appeared and extolled the merits of the machinery furnished by his firm.
No further business coming before the Board, the Board then adjourned.
