The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular session, President
Lawrence presiding, and the following Trustees being present: Hale, Rich, and Villinger.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Communication of the Southern Pacific Rail Road Co. relation to water for the areas
around the depot read and placed on file.
Communication of the President of the Woman's Improvement Club relation to the trees
recently planted on Lodi Avenue read and referred to the City Marshal.
Report of City Marshal for the month of April read and approved as read.
Report of Pound Master for the month of Apr. read and approved as read.
Report of City Treasurer for the quarter ending April 1, 1907 read and approved as read.
Report of Committee of the Whole, on the petition for a special Election, reported
progress.
Report of the Committee on Moneys due the City from the County, Committee was
granted further time.
The following claims against the City were then read and motions regularly made,
seconded and carried the same were allowed and ordered paid:
H. B Coleman Salary for April. 70.00
G. M. Steele Salary for April 10.00
J. M. McMahon Salary for April 40.00
F. W. Colman Salary for April 10.00
J. K. Nay Street Sweeping for April 45.00
J. M. McMahon Supplies 11.00
C. E. Elwell Meals .75
H. Brannack Pound Master Services for April. 3.20
W. S. Cluff Typewriting 8.00

Claim of J. K. Nay for Street Sweeping for March read.
Motion was then regularly made and seconded that the above claim be allowed and
ordered paid. The motion was put and lost by a tie vote.
It was then regularly moved and seconded that the claim be allowed for $35. Motion was
lost by a tie vote.

Claim of E. F. Nickel for a rebate on his merchandise license read and on motion
regularly made, seconded and carried by the claim was rejected.
Claims or R. L. Graham, Res. Claim of $1.20 for formaldehyde, of Dougherty,
Whittaker, Ray Co., for rebate on Liquor License, of S. R. Atter for rebate on mdse.
License read and laid on the table.
Application of C. L. Van Buskik for permission to erect a 2 story Brick Building on Lot
14 of block 15 read and on motion regularly made, seconded and carried the same was
granted. So ordered.
Ordinances No. 22, 23, & 24
Ordinance No. 22 entitled, "An Ordinance Relating to Advertisements for Bids for the
Erection, Improvement and Repair of Public Buildings and Works," read and introduced
and laid on the table for not less than five days exclusive of the day of introduction.
Ordinance No 23, entitled "An Ordinance Providing for the Employment of an Attorney,"
read and introduced, and laid on the table for not less than five days exclusive of the day
of introduction.
Ordinance No. 24, entitled, "An Ordinance Making it a Misdemeanor to Spit or
Expectorate on the Sidewalks and upon the Floors and Walls and Stairs of Public
Buildings Within the City of Lodi," read and introduced and laid on the table for not less
than five days exclusive of the day of introduction.
No further business coming before the Board, the Board on motion regularly made and
seconded and carried, adjourned.
