The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi reconvened in adjourned regular session
pursuant to adjournment of April 1, 1907, President Lawrence presiding and the
following Trustees being present: Blodgett, Hale, Rich and Villinger.
Minutes of previous meeting read and approved as read.
A Petition signed by eleven electors and a petition signed by the thirty two non -electors,
praying the Board to pass an ordinance prohibiting the liquor business, read and referred
to the Committee of the Whole.
Communication of the Ingram Richards Mfg. Co. in regard to street signs read and
referred to the Woman's Improvement Club.
The claim of J. G. Nay for street sweeping for March read and laid on the table till the
first regular meeting of May.
A petition signed by 45 residents of Lodi asking that an Arc Light be maintained at the
Corner Of Sacramento & Lockeford Streets was read and on motion regularly made by C.
A. Rich and seconded by F. O. Hale, the petition was granted.
Mr. F. W. Beckman then addressed the Board and offered a petition from the business
men of Lodi in reference to the liquor question, which petition was read and referred the
Committee of the Whole.
Mr. J. M. C. Murphy then attempted to enter into a discussion of the petitions regarding
the Liquor question, but being out of order the petition not being before the Board, he
was not permitted to proceed.
No further business coming before the Board, on motion regularly made, seconded and
carried, adjourned.
