HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - March 25, 1907Public Hall, Lodi, California March 25, 1907 The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in the adjourned regular session pursuant to adjournment of Mar. 18, 1907, President Lawrence presiding and the following Trustees being present: Blodgett, Hale, Villinger, and Rich. The minutes of the meetings of Mar. 14 and Mar. 18 were read and approved. Dr. S. W. Hopkins, President of the Board of Health, addressed the board asking that the part of Health Ordinance relating to the pumping out of cesspools be suspended for the period of ten days in order that those parties whose cess pools were flooded be enabled to have them pumped out during the day. He was instructed by the President of the Board of Trustees that such power was already vested in the Board of Health. The question of Street Lighting was then taken up. The Clerk read a letter from Chas. M. Pickand, City Clerk of Woodland, stating that Woodland was paying $7 per month each for 56 Arc Lamps; a letter from the City Clerk of Pleasanton, stating that they were paying $1.25 per mo. for 16 c.p. & $1.75 per month for 32 c.p. Lights; also a letter from C. E. Teylor, City Clerk of Nevada City, stating that Nevada City was paying $1.30 per month for 16 c.p. Lights and $1.50 for each additional light, and $7 per mo. for each Arc Light. It was then moved by C. A. Rich that we make a proposition to Cary Bros. to furnish the City of Lodi Arc Lights at $70 per year each and 32 c.p. lights at $18 per year each -the company to furnish all renewals, keep the lights in repair, and do all necessary wiring. Seconded by F. O. Hale & carried by the following vote: Ayes; Rich, Hale, and Villinger. Noes; None. Moved by C. A. Rich, seconded by J. M. Blodgett that the Board publish a notice in the papers informing the public that they can ascertain the correct numbers of their houses and procure said numbers from S. T. Deree at the Taylor's house. Carried by unanimous vote. The Clerk was then instructed to address the following letter to the Board of Supervisors: To the Honorable Board of Supervisors, of the County of San Joaquin, State of California, Your attention is respectfully called to an Act of the last Legislation entitled, "An Act to Add a New Section to the Political Code to be Numbered Section 2656, Relating to the Division of General Road Funds upon the Incorporation of Municipalities or Annexations to Municipalities." The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi believe, and therefore represent that under the previous of said section, this municipality is entitled to an apportionment of the moneys 44 of the General Road Fund collected from the Assessment of 1906, and therefore, petition your honorable body to take such action as may be necessary for the making of said apportionment and the transferring of the amount due to the treasury of said City of Lodi. It was then moved by J. M. Blodgett, and seconded by F. O. Hale that Ordinance No. 1 be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes; Blodgett, Hale, Rich and Villinger. Noes; None So ordered. It was then moved by C.A.Rich and seconded by Leon Villinger that Ordinance No. 2 be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes; Rich, Villinger, Blodgett, Hale, and Lawrence Noes; None So Ordered. It was then moved by F. O. Hale, seconded by J. M. Blodgett, that Ordinance No.3 be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Hale, Blodgett, Villinger and Rich. Noes; None So ordered. It was then moved by J. M. Blodgett, seconded by L. Villinger that Ordinance No. 4 be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes; Blodgett, Villinger, Hale, and Rich. Noes; None. So ordered It was then moved by F. O. Hale, seconded by J. M. Blodgett, that Ordinance No. 5 be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes; Hale, Blodgett, Rich, & Villinger. Noes: None. So ordered It was then moved by C. A. Rich, seconded by F. O. Hale that Ordinance No. 6 be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes; Rich, Hale, Blodgett & Villinger. Noes; None. So ordered 45 It was then moved by F. O. Hale, seconded by L. A Rich that Ordinance No. 8 be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Yeas; Villinger, Rich, Blodgett & Hale. Noes; None. So ordered. It was then moved by J. M. Blodgett, seconded by F. O. Hale, that Ordinance No. 9 be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes; Blodgett, Hale, Villinger & rich. Noes; None. So ordered. It was then moved by L.Villinger, seconded by J. M.Blodgett that Ordinance No. 10 be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes; Lawrence, Villinger, Blodgett, Rich & Hale. Noes; None. So ordered. It was then moved by J. M. Blodgett, seconded by L. Villinger that Ordinance No 11 be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes; Blodgett, Villinger, Hale, & Rich. Noes; None. So ordered. It was then moved by L. Villinger seconded by J. M. Blodgett that Ordinance No. 12 be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes; Lawrence, Blodgett, Rich, Villinger It was then moved by C.A. Rich, seconded.by F. O. Hale that Ordinance No. 13 be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes; Rich, Blodgett, Villinger, & Hale. Noes; None. So ordered. It was then moved by M.Blodgett, seconded by C. A. Rich that ordinance No. 15 be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes; Blodgett, Rich, Villinger & Hale. Noes; None So ordered. It was then moved by L. Villinger, seconded by F. O. Hale that Ordinance No. 17 be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote; Ayes; Villinger, Blodgett, Rich & Hale. Noes; None. So ordered. 46 It was then moved by C. A. Rich, seconded by J. M.Blodgett, that Ordinance No. 18 be adopted as read, carried by the following vote: Ayes; Villinger, Blodgett, Hale, & Rich. Noes; None So ordered. It was then moved by F. O. Hale, seconded by L. Villinger, that Ordinance No. 19 be adopted as read. Carried by the following votes: Ayes; Lawrence, Blodgett, Rich, Villinger & Hale. Noes; None. So ordered. It was moved by J. M. Blodgett, seconded by L. Villinger, that Ordinance No. 20 be adopted as read. Ayes; Blodgett, Villinger, Hale, & Rich. Noes; None. So ordered.
