The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi reconvened adjourned regular session pursuant
to adjournment of January 11, 2907, President Lawrence presiding.
President Lawrence, Blodgett, Hale, Villinger & Rich.
Minutes of previous meeting read and approved.
Mr. H. D. Hopkins, Manager of the Lodi Herald, appeared before the Board and
requested that the Lodi Harold be given part of the City printing.
Mr. C. Van Buskin appeared before the Board and asked if the Board wanted any dirt for
the streets, saying that in three or four weeks he would have a quantity of dirt which he
would be willing to sell to the city at as reasonable figure as any other party would, which
dirt he would place upon the streets at any place the Board might desire.
Matter laid over for future action.
Mr. H. F. Ellis stated that he had an opinion from District Attorney M. Noble regarding
the recovering of road funds, which opinion would be published in the Sentinel on the
15th inst.
Mr. Ellis stated that it was the opinion of another attorney that a suitable bill be drafted
and presented to the legislature by assemblyman Percival assisted by the assemblyman
from Tehame county in which county Corning is located.
Mr. H. Lee appeared before the Board and protested that the Theater License was too
high. He believed that the license should be make so much per quarter and stated that he
believed the county ordinance was about right. Matter taken under advisement.
Report of the Committee on Pound read stating the building could be put up for $40.68,
as follows: Lumber @$36.68 and labor by Brannard @ $4.00.
Moved by C .A. Rich, seconded by F. O. Hale that the committee be instructed to put up
the building. Carried unanimously, so ordered.
The city Marshal was instructed to have the water trough removed from the Railroad
reservation so that the company could go ahead with their grading.
In regard to the request of E. F. Hadcock for permission to conduct a lunch wagon: The
sense of the Board is that he be granted a regular restaurant license at the regular rate of
$3.00 per quarter, with no specified location for business.
Consideration of the Liquor Ordinance in reference to the sale of wine discussed.

Application of Harrison Brannock for appointment as Pound master taken up.
Moved by C.A. Rich, seconded by L. Villinger that Harrison Brannock be and he is
hereby appointed Pound master in and for the City of Lodi.
Carried by the following vote:
Ayes; Lawrence, Rich, Villinger, Blodgett & Hale.
Meeting having no further business adjourned to reconvene Monday morning, January
18, 1907.
