The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi reconvened in adjourned regular session
pursuant to adjournment of January 7, President G. E. Lawrence presiding.
Present; Lawrence, Hale, Blodgett, Rich and Villinger.
Absent; None.
Minutes from previous meeting read and approved.
Communication of the Board of Health recommending that the Board of Trustees appoint
Dr. F. W. Coleman health Officer read.
Moved by F. O. Hale, seconded by J. M. Blodgett that the recommendation of the Board
of Health be approved and that Dr. F. W. Coleman be constituted and appointed Health
Officer in and for the City of Lodi.
Carried by the following vote:
Ayes; Hale, Blodgett, and Villinger.
Noes; Rich.
Supervisor C. L. Newton consulted with the Board of Trustees regarding the care of
prisoners sent from Lodi to the County Jail. The Supervisor stated that all prisoners sent
to the County Jail at Stockton would be taken care of and boarded by the County.
In regard to the use of the Public Hall of Lodi by the Board of Trustees as a meeting
place: The Supervisor stated that the Board could have the free use of the same and
would be required to pay only for the running expenses such as fuel & lighting.
Report of committee of Pound:
The committee reported having interviewed H. Brannock and stated that the most
available place for a pound was on the vacant lot back of the Public Hall, and that Mr.
Brannock thought he could construct a suitable building for $18 or $20. Matter left in the
hands of the committee to make further arrangements.
Mr. E. F. Haddock appeared before the Board and requested permission to maintain lunch
wagon rights at the corners of Pine and Sacramento Sts.
Matter laid on the table.
President Lawrence being excused and leaving the meeting, C. A. Rich was called to the
chair.

Supervisor C. L. Newton stated that the City Hall could use the vacant lot back of the
Public Hall for a City Pound.
The Board of Trustees then adjourned to reconvene Monday evening, January 14, 1907.
