In regular session of the 3oard of Trustees of the City
of Lodi,the following trustees being present: J.M.Blodgett.F.O.Hale,
G.E.Lawrence.C.A.Rich and L.Villinger. President Lawrence presiding.
The minutes of the meeting October 9,1911,were read and
approved.
A communication fron Supervisor Newton was read and filed.
A comrntnication from the Lodi Merchants' Association in
regard to fire system was read and laid an the table for one week.
A communication from Balck River Fa11s.1Vis.,asking for
aid was read and laid on the table.
The follo7^ing applications for building permits were read
and granted:
J.H.Corbin.dwelling in Barnhart Tract;
John J.Schmeidt,dwelling in Barnhart Tract;
S.B.Wilson.dwelling on ldt 12 block 5 E.Lodi.
The application of H.N.Hadison for permission to erect
an iron building at the rear of the German Restaurant was denied
for the reason that iron building are rated by the Insurance under-
writers as being as hazardous as frame buildings and the Board does
not wish to permit the erection of any more such buildiggs in the
thickly settled sections of the City.Cn roll call on the motion to
grant the permit,the vote stood as follows: Ayes:Trustees Hale and
Rich. Noes: Trustees 3lodgett,Lawrence and Villinger.
Fire Chief Welch reported that the new harness had arrived
and that the hose wagons were to be placed one on each side of the
railroad track, -one at Slegalkoff's Stable and one at Gllbeau's
Stable.providing he could make the necessary arrabgements with Mr.
Giibeau,Mr.Siegalkoff having already consented. The Chief was in-
structed to go ahead and have the ratter attended to.
On motion,the Board ad;;ourned until Oct.23,1911.at the
usual hour and place.
