In adjourned regular session of the 3oard of Trustees of the City of Lodi,the following trustees being _resent: J.M.3lodgett, F.O.Hale and C.A.Rich. Absent: G.E.Lawrence and L.Viliinger. Trustee C.A.Rich was chosen President Pro Tem. The Minutes of the meetin„ of May 22,191i,were read and approved. The folowing applications fd'r Building ?emits were read and granted: 011ie Hawkins,dwelling on lot 30 Barnhart Tract; Pacific Fruit Exchange,packing shed on lots 5.6,7,& 8 Block B Subdivision 72,3arnhart Tract. 2 A letter from H.S.Clark Sr.,calli g the Board's attention to the break in the water pipes in front of his property on E.Pine St..was read and referred to Supt.Henning with the instruction to repair tie same. A letter from the Women's Improvement Club in regard to the street signs that are down was read,and laid on the table till our next meeting. An announement of the American-LaFrance Fire Engine Co. was referred to the fire Chief. Messrs.S.H.Zimmerman,W.H.Thompson and A.V.Fri-dburger of the 2treet Lighting Committee of the Merchants Association stated that they had collected over $1100.00 for electroliers,and would as- sure the Board the am;unt of $$1300.00 for that purpose. They wished to report so that Supt.Henning could go ahead with his plans. Mr. Thompson stated that Mr.Brennan of the S.F.Co.would recommend that his company pay the expense of fhur eiectroliers,-one to be placed on Pine Steeet,one in the park and two on. Sacramento Street. The pro- position appealed to the Board and the Clerk was instructed to write Mr.Brennan asking the cooperation of his company. Mr.C.L.Buell stated that the Inspector had required him to put in patent toilets at his two houses on E.Cak St.,and contended that the ordinance did not require it. Mr.D.P.D:epke stated that the Septic Tanx still annoyed him by dispensing an offensive odor,and requested that the Board do some- thing definite. He was informed that the matter would be taken up at the next meeting,when it was hoped a full board would be present. Cn motion,the Clerk was instructed to correct the minutes of May 1,1911,by adding the wJrd work after the word street on line 14, page 161. F RD 16c The reports of the Clerk and Treasurer for the quarter end- ing March 31.1911,were read and approved and ordered filed. The opinion of Hon.E.I.Jones or, the matter of the granting of a franchise to Central California Traction Co. ,and in regard to the paloing of belis,lights,etc..at street crossings was read.
