In adjourned regular session of the Board of Trustees of
the Ctty of Lodi,Vhe following trustees being present:J.M.Blodgett,
F.O.Hale and C.A.Rich. Absent: G.E.Lawrence and L.Villinger.
On motion of Trustee C.A.Rich,Trustee J.M.3lodgett was
appointed president pro tem.
The Minutes of the meeting of May 1,1911, were read and
approved.
The following applications for Building permits were read
and granted:
C.E.Durston,dwelling at 401 E.Walnut St.;
E.E.Clark,dwg.on lots 7 & 8,block 6 E.Lodi.
A communication from the women's Improvement Club,recom-
mending certain legislation regarding cement sidewalks,was read and
filed and the ClerK instructed to thank the Club for their suggestion,
A communication from the Board of Health,regarding the
mosquito evil,was read and filed.and it appeared to be the opinion
of the Board that the Board of Health already had the power to compel
proper proceedure towarl the, elimination of that evil.
The claim of western States Gas & Electric Co..,of $750.00
for electric current for April was.on r^otion,allowed and ordered paid.
The claim of the Western States Gas & Electric Company for
4314.45 for repairs to transformer,was read.
It was moved by Trustee Rich,seoonded by Trustee 3ale,that the
cliim of Western States Gas & Electric Company for 4314.45 for re-
pairs to transformer be disallowed for the following reasons:
There is not sufficient evidence to show that the fault rested upon
the City; the fuses were taken out on the order of the Company; the
City was not under obligation to protect the company's transformers,
through which the company was furnishing current to consumers other
than the City. The motion was carried by the affirmative votes of
Trustees J.M.Blodgett,F.O.Hale and C.A.Rich. Noes: None.
The Board adjourned.
