In.adjourned regular.session of the Boarr' of Trustees of
the City of Lodi.the following members of the Board being present:
J.M.8106gett,F.C.Hale,G.E.Lawrence,C.A.Rich and L.Viliinger.President
Lawrence Presiding.
The Minutes of the Meeting of April 3,1911,were read and
approved.
Freidberger and Blodgett were granted a permit to remodel
the second story of their building at the corner of Sacramento and
Pine Streets.
The following claims.having been auditted by the Auditing
Committee. were allowed and ordered paid:
E.W.3ennett,Labor on Pipe Line --- $6.25
P.Durand, do., 6.35
S.Squire, do., 6.35
Total. $18.95
Mrs.Belle Wright.on behalf of the Women's Christain Temer—
atae
ante Union,stated that the W.C.T.U.woulri donate a sanitary drinking
fountain to the City if the Board would designate the place where
it might be installed. They preferred Pine Street near Sacramento.
The matter was discussed and laid on the table to be taken up with
the City Engineer.
Representatives of the Teamsters spoke on the matter of
licensing teamsters,sug ecting a license of from $1.00 to -$$2.00 Der
quarter on resident teamsters and 410.00 per quarter on non—resident
teamsters. Afetr discussion.it appeared to be the sense of the 3oard
that the license on teaming be repealed.
Mr.S.A.Shinn wanted to rent the City lot at the corner of
Sacramento and Lodi Ave. Said he would want it for six months for
a dance platform an;. would require about 80 feet square. It was
decided to rent it to him for 430.00 for the six months with the
proviso that in case the City sold the lot he would move off and the
City would refund t^e amount of rental still unused;said $30.00 to
be paid in advance.
A communication from the 3oard of Health in regard to
stagnat water collecting off West Pine Street was read and referred
to the Street Committee and the Engineer.
In the matter of an attorney for the Health Officer to
consult,President Lawrence reported that he had spoken to Steele
and Ferdun and that they would act and render bilis for services.
The Clerk was instructed to so notify the 3oard of Health.

A communication from City Recorder E.E.Breitenbucher.
recommending that the license of Via G.Piazzi be revoked,he having
been convicted of violating the Sunday closing ordinance,was read
and laid on the table. _
The matter of the Southern Pacific Co. furnishing
four electroliers was discussed,but no altion taken.
The matter of furnishing water and light to certain
portions of the Barnhart Tract was taken and up and it was decided
to furnish the same.
On motion of Trustee Rich,the President of the Board
was authorised to enter into a contract with the Sanson Iron Works
for the furnishing of a gas engine in accordance with their bid.
The Board adjourned.
