In regular s-ssion of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi,the following trustees bein;; present: J.M.Blodgett,'.O.Hale, G.E.Lawrence,C.A.Rich and L.V111inger. President Lawrence presiding. The minutes of the meeting of Mar.27,1911.were read and the figures $2325.00 in the Record of the Samson Iron Works maximum bid ordered changed to $2450.00,after which the minutes were approved. M.R.Channell and others of the teamsters asked that the Board take up the matter of teamsters' licenses with a view to making the license effective on all parties hauling in the City for hire and protecting those who were paying licenses. President Lawrence stated that on account of the amount of business before the Board at this meeting it would be impossible to take t -e matter up but that the matter would be taken up next Monday. for March The reports of the Marshal and the Poundmaster, were read and approved. The following applications for Building Permits were read and 7ranted: J.Chas.Ferguson,removal of a bldg to block 72 Barnhart Tract; W.H.Lorenz.auto garage,on W.Locust St.; German Baptist Chureh.cor.3.Cak and Grand Ave.; L.E.McClung,addition to bldg.lots 6&7 blk 12 Hutch Add.; Yee Bow,addition to and remodelling front of #10 N.Main St.; The appointment of W.H.3urkholder as Deputy Marshal was read and ordered filed. The following claims against the City,having been approved for payment by the auditting comm1ttee,were read.allowed and ordered paid: Lodi Soda Works,Coal, Effie Florance,Typewriting, J.B.Devon.Labor at City Hall, F.w.Co_lman,Salary & Fumigating, E.E.Breitenbucher,Sa?ary, J.M.McMahon.Salary, 2.50 Stamps $5..Reg1strars Fees. Mr.Henderson recommended that the bid of the Samson Iron Works texascepta* for a 100 H.P. for *2310.00 be accepted. It was moved by Trustee Rich and seconded by Trustee Blodgett that the report of Engineer Henderson be accepted,and that the bid of the Samson Iron Works for the furnishing of a 100 H.P.Engine for the sum of 02310.00 be accepted and all other bids rejected and the certified ohex returned to the unsuccessful bidders. The motion was carried and it was so ordered. The matter of correspondence with the Pacific Tel.& Te1.Co. was left to tie President of the Board. The matter of furnishing water for the Hutchins Park was left in the hands of Supt.Ilenning. In re the matter of laying sewer in the alley extending south from the center of Block 18 to Lodi Ave.was taken up and Inspector Hepper was instructed to lay the sewer. In re the claim of the Western States Gas .& Electric Co. for $294.45 for repairing a burned cut transformerwas read and the Clerk was instructed to write the Co.and ask that the matter be atken up with their representative and the 3oard. Mr.Henning stated that H.C.Grigsby wished to connect with the City Sewer,although he lived just outside,the City limits,and that he was willing .to nay for the privilege the sumof#50.00.. It was moved by Trustee Rich that.Hr...C.Grigsby be granted per- mission to connect his property with the City Sewer on the payment of the sum of $5C.00. The motion was carried by the affirmative votes of Trustees Blodgett and Rich and President Lawrence,Trustees Hale and Villinger voting in the negative.
