Public Hall.Lodl,California.Mar.20.1911.
In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Lodi.the following trustees being present: J.M.Blodgett,F.O.Hale,
G.E.Lawrence,C.A.Rich,and L.Villinger. President Lawrence presiding.
The minutes of the meeting of March 6,1911,wereread and
approved.
A communication from the Japanese Association of L.A.H.,
asking that Mr. Masanosuke Oyuki be commissioned a special policeman
without pay,was read and referred to the City Marshal for his re—
commendation.
A communication from the Board of Fire Underwriters in re—
gard to a "sane" Fourth of July was read and the Clerk instructed
to inform the Board'of t -e present ordinances of the City on that
matter.
A communication from the Board of Health,asking that A.J.
';'Teinert be appointed a member of the 3oard of Health,vice B.F.Woodson
resigned,was read. •
Upon motion of Trustee Blodgett,seconded by Trustee'Villinger,
the resignation of B.F.Woodson from the Board of Health was accepted,and
thereupon.President•Lawrence,bv and with t:e consent of the•Board
of Trustees,duly appointed A.J.Weinert a member of the Board of Health
Of the City of Lodi'.
A communication from the Board of Health,recommend'ng that
the Board make arrangements whereby the Health Officer could have
legal advice in matters wherein he needed II it,and recommending that
the salary of the Health Officer be increased from $10.00 per -month
$20.00 per month,was read and laid on the table.
The following applica tions for blilding •permits were read -
and granted:

• ' The ap;lication of the Lodi Hardware Co.for a Master
Plumber's License,accOmpanied by a bond in the sum of $500.00 with
J.G.Hieb and John W.Hieb as sureties was read,and upon motion the
bond was approved and the license ordered issued.

Henry F.Ellis,on behalf of the Board of.School Trustees,
asked that they be allowed to connect the Emerson School with the
Municipal Sewer System. In as much as the school is a public Institut.
ion.in which most of the children are residents of the City,Trustee
Rich moved and Trustee Blodgett seconded that the Sewer and Plumbing
Inspector be Instructed to grant the necessary permit to connect
the Emerson School with the sewer. Carried and so ordered.
E.H.Fint stated that the St.Supt.had removed the dirt
from Lodi Ave. at his place so that there was a ditch there,and
asked that the Board have t_'.e matter attended to and the dirt re-
placed. The matter was referred to the St.Committee.

The claire of Crane Co.for $825.47 was approved by Engineer
Henderson for e366.22,and the Clerk was instructed to write Crane
Co.regarding the same.
Ordinance No.53,entibled,"An Ordinance Aaendin3 Ordinance
No.52",having been introduced on Feb.27th.,ras read and a motion
made that the ordinance be adopted as read,whioh motion was lost.
and the ordinance rejected by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustee Villinger. Noes:Trustees Blodgett,Hale and Rieh.

Ordinance No.53,entitled."An Ordinance Amending Ordinance
No.2,entitled,'An Ordinance Relating to the Lleenses,License Tax
Rates,and the Regulation of Certain Classes of Business and Certain
Shows,Exhibitions.and Lawful Oamee in the City of Lodi",*vas read
and upon motion of Trustee HalAc;he ordinance was introduced and

laid on the table for not less than five days exclusive of the day
of introduction.
Upon notion,the Board then adjourned until March 27,1911,
at the usual hour and place.
