Public Hall,Lodi,California.Feb.14,1911.
In adjourned regular session of the Board of Trustees of
the City of Lodi.the following trustees being present: J.1d.Blodgett,
F.O.Ha1e,G.E.Lawrence,C.A.Rich and L.Villinger. President Lawrence
presiding.
The Minutes of the meeting Df Feb.6,1911,were read and
approved.
D.D.Turner was granted a permit to erect a private barn
at 420 W.Pine Street.
The Application of Frank I.Atherton for a Drain Layer's
License waa,being accompanied by a bond in the proper form with
S.A.Shinn and J.H.Bowling as sureties,was read,and,upon motion the
bond was approved and the license ordered issued.
A communication from H.F.Ellis,asking to have his nae
withdrawn from the petition for a cheaper macadam,was read and
ordered filed with the petition referred to.
The following warrants were ordered drawn.in favor of the
following parties:,
Mueller Mnfg.Co.,Balance of account, $1.69
H.H.Henderso•;,on acct. of contract, 400.00
J.A.Graham.Settirg Grades, 10.00
Total. 411.69
Mr.Jos.J.McHugh,of the Federal Construction Co..stated that
his company would like to put in the proposed street work at private
or property owners' contract. Said that they would pay engineering
charges and advertising costs.and complete the work in 120 days.Said
his firm co'tld do it much cheaper under this plan than by public bids.
Estimated that the.cost would be about 21$ per square foot for paving,
19¢ per sq.ft. for gutter.and 290 per lineal foot for curb. He stated
that all they would ask of the Board would be that when they had
signed up 51% of the frontage the 3o -,rd sould grant them permission
to do the work. No:apyment would be asked until the work was completed
and those who were:unable to pay at that time would be given time.
The Street Supt.was instructed to gather up the ald pipe
from the Streets and place it on the city lot.
The Board then adjourned.
