In adjourned regular session of the Board of Trustees of -the City of Lodi.the following members of the Board being present: F.O.Hale.C.A.Rich and L:Villinger. Absent: J.M:Blodgett and.G:E. Lawrence. Trustee C.A.Rich acting as President Pro Tem. The Minutes of the Previous Meeting were read and approved: H.M.Stanley and Son were granted a Permit to construct a dwelling on lot 2 of Bloc4 5 E.Lodi. Mr.G.Doepke made complaint that the'Septic Tanx or the filter bed was creating a nuisance in supplying such an odor at his place that it was very ann:ying. He said that he would sell his place of 20 acres,- 10 acres in Tokay vines.2i acres in alfalfa,with house, barn and pumping plant, -for the sum of $7500.00. Said the vines were 7 years old. He said if the Board would do nothing he would have to pass it up to the State Board of Health. Mr.Fink did not -think that the bacteria were working in the tanx yet: Mr.Doepke claimed that there was a party who would rent the place for $500.00 per year. A warrant was ordered drawn in favor of the Clerk for - $43.25 to pay freight on two cars of crushed rock and return of deposit on Hop Lee meter. The matter of returning the deposits received by -the City on electric meters was taken up.and the Clerk stated that the funds of the City were in such shape that the deposits could be re- turned without depleting the water and light funds. Supt.Henning favored the return of the deposits at this time. It was moved that the deposits be returned and that the Clerk be instructed to draw a warrant for th<ei aamiounk Carried and so ordered. A communication from Judge Jones.enclosing two resolutions in relation to the matter of street improvement,weee read; but as there were only three members of the Board present the matter was deferred. Upon motion the Clerk was instructed to apportion to the General Fund from the water Fund the sum of $607.90 and from the Light Fund the sun of $1072.54 to replenish the General Fund for amouns paid for water and light operating at a time when titers was no money in the Water and the,Ligh: Funds.
