The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened int regular session,?resident ;..E.Laurence presiding and the following other members of the Board being present: r .0.Hale,C.A.Rich and L.Villinger. Absent: J.M.31odggett. The lint es Of the Previous Meetins were read and approved. The following Applications for Building Permits were read granted: G.R.:ance,^ani: House on Lot 7 Block 47; E.H.Fink,?rivate Stable on Lots 122, 13 Block 12 Hutch.Ad .; P._.nudsen.Dwe11ins.Lots 7&0 Block 41; H.77.Sti1le,Tank House and Kitchen at 124 Chestnut St. The hour having arrived for opening bids for Cast Iron pie,Hydrants , Co?'ib1nation Hydrants .Valves and Valve Boxes , the follow— ins bids 'dere 0p-ned: Crane Go., 17327.00: United St-.tes Pipe Co.,S17446.11. The matter of considering the bids was deferred,with the consent of the bidders till July 11th. A representative of the General Electric Co.was present and asked the Board to take up the matter of a meter contract. After consulting Engineer Henderson and Supt.Renning,,it was ?coved and carried that the -resident of the Board of Trustees be authorized to enter into a contract with the General Electric Co.for meters in accordance with their proposal. So ordered. Studebaker Bros . Co .made an offer to the Board of a 600 gallon steel sprinkling wagon for 472.50,f.o.b.Stockton. The offer was accepted and the ?resident of the 3oard authorized to lade the necessary order for the sale,which was done. The bids for the construction of a tank foundation,which had been laid on the table on June 27th.,were taken up,and it was II'ioved and seconded that the bid of Perrin 3ros.for $811.10,being the lowest and best bid,be accepted. The motion was carried by the affirm— ative votes of ?resident Lawrence and Trustees Hale,Rich and Villinger. Upon notion,t':e ?resident of the Board was authorized to endorse the Certified Check Of Appleton and Frederickson Bros. ,whit i accompanied their btd.After being endorsed the Clerk returned the check to 3Jr.Appleton. The reports of the City Marshal and Poundmaster for the month .of June were read and approved. . The report of the Treasurer for the quarter ending June 30t}l.was read and approved. The Plans and Specifications for laying pipe,placing hydrants &c. were presented by Engineer Henderson and read by the clerk. The matter fo the purchase of an adding machine was taken. ir.Bueli of the Dalton Adding Machine Company was present and gave a mechanical demonstration of their machine. The opinion of the Clerk as to which machine he preferred was asked. The Clerk recommended the Dalton. It was moved by Trustee Rich and seconded by Trustee Hale that the City *Purchase the Dalton machine at $300.00,subject to 2 cash discount at the first meeting of the Board in August. The motion was carried and the order given. It was moved and seconded that this Board do now adjourn till July 6th.at the usual hour and place. Carried and so ordered.
