The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in
regular session.President G.E.Lawrence presiding and the following
other members of the 3oard being present: J.;a.Blodget t,C.A.Rich and
L.Villin er. Absent: _.G. ale.
The timrtes of the Previous Meeting were read and approved.
The following applications for Building Permits were read
and „ranted:
G.0reenwell,bacz porch and sleeping room.Lots 5&G,31ock 9;
E.C.Cary,frame building on Lots 5 & G,Block 23;
L.E.::cClung, private barn on lots 3 & 4 .Block 0.
A representative of the Burroughs Adding 2:tachine Co.was
present,but no action was taken.
Several patrons of the Water Co.were present and complain-
ed of poor service in the supply of water. On motion regularly made
and carried,Trustee L.Villinger was appointed a committee to see
Cary Bros. and ascertain the reason of the poor service and if it
could not be improved.
A communication from Judge Jones giving his opinion in the
matter of the application of the Cherokee Lane Telephone Company±s
to dace poles on the streets of the city was read and the Clerk
directed to send a copy of the sane to said company.
Upon motion of Trustee 3lodgett,seconded by Trustee Rich,
the bill of Appleton and Frederickson 3ros.,as approved by the Cors-
nittee on Sewer Construction and the Engineer in charge,was allowed
and ordered paid in the sum of $3789.90; whereupon a warrant for
said amount was drawn in favor of The First National Sank in accord-
ance with the provisions of an assignment made by Appleton and
Frederickson 3ros.to said Bank.
Appleton and Frederickson stated that the reason the
trenches had not been puddled was difficulty in getting the necess-
ary water.
Trustee Blodgett informed the 3oard that some of the
members of the improvement Club had asked him to find out if any-
thing could be done by the City in regard to filling in the park
at the railroad. It was the sense of the Board that they would be
willing to furnish water,but would do no filling in.
A contract was presented to the Board by the Southern
Pacific Company in regard to the /-tinning of sewer pipe under their

trax and,therefore,the following resolution was introduced by Trustee
Rich:
'V iER3 S,the City of Lodi is now constructing a Sewer System;and,
• l7HEREAS,it is necessary for the proper construction of the
same that sewer pipe be laid over and across the railroad right-of-way'
of the Southern Pacific Company;now therefore be it.
RSOLVED,that the President of the Board of Trustees
of the City of Lodi is hereby authorized and directed to procure from
said company all rights-of-way necessary to the proper construction
and maintenance of said Sewer System and to sign and execute in -the
name of and on behalf of said City all contracts and papers necessary
to that end.
Upon motion of Trustee Rich,seoonded by Trustee Blodgett,
the foregoing resolution was adopted by the affirmative votes of
Trustees 31odgett,Rich and V111 n er,
It was roved and seconded that the Street Committee advert-
ise for bids for sprinkling with the four -horse wagon,bids to be open-
ed at the meeting of gay 23,1910. Carried and so ordered.
It was roved and seconded tat this Board do now adjourn
until Monday,ay 23rd. ,1910,at the usual hour and place. Carried.
