The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in a regular session,President,G.E.Lawrence.presiding and the following other members of the Board being present: J.M.Blodgett,F.O.Hale, C.A.Rich and L.V1llinger. The Minutes of the Previous meeting were read and approved. The Reports of the Clerk and Treasurer for the Quarter ending March 31,1910,were read,accepted and ordered filed. The Board then proceeded to open and canvass the Returns of the General Municipal Election held in the City of Lodi on April llth.,1910The following resolution was then read and introduced: RESCLUTICN ¶HEREAS,on the Eleventh day of Apr11,1910,a General Municipal Election was held in the City of Lodi,as authorized by Section 852 Chapter VII of "An Act to Provide for the Organization,Ineorporation and Goverment of Municiapi Corporations",approved March 13th.,1883; and, WHEREAS,the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi have con- vened in regular session in the City Hall of the City of Lodi,said hall being the usual place of meeting of said Board,on the 18th.day of Apri1,1910,for the purpose of canvassing the retu]'ns of said election; Now,therefore,on canvass of said returns,the said Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi do declare the purposes and result of said election to be as follows: That there was but one election ?recinct,and the whole number of ballots cast was Three Hundred and Eighty-six; That the propositions voted upon were the election of Three Members of the Board of Trustees,a Clerk,a Treasurer,a Marshal,and the proposition,"Shall each of the Trustees of the City of Lodi have a salary of Two Hundred and Forty Dollars per year,payable quarterly? That John `.Blodgett received for Member of the Board of Trust- ees Three Hundred and Twenty-nine votes; That Frank O.Hale received for Member of the Board of Trustees Three Hundred and Thirty-seven votes; That George E.Lawrence received for Member of the Board of Trustees Three Hundred and Twenty-one motes; 48 That '7illi, m Morehead received for Member of the 3oard of Trustees one vote; That F.J.Beaty received for Member of the Board of Trustees one • vote; That D.D.Smith received for Member If of the Board of Trustees ' one vote; That Henry Hagginaster received for Member of the Board of Trustees one vote; That C.L.Van Buskirk received for Member of the 3oard of Trustees one vote; That Bannett Devon received for Member of the Board of Trustees One vote; That S.3.Axtell received for :Member fo the Board of Trustees One vote; That John M::.ichahon received for City Clerk Three Hundred and Forty-four. votes; That F.A.Henning received for City Clerk Cne vote; That William H.Lorenz received for City Treasurer Three Hundred and Thirty-five votes; That Hannibal B.Colenan received for City Marshal Two Hundred and Thirty-two votes; That John H.Murphy received for City Marshal One Hundred and Twenty-nine votes; That Two Hundred and Thirty-six votes were cast for and in favor of the proposition,"Shall each of the Trustees of the City of Lodi have a salary of Two'Hundred and Forty Dollars per year,payable quarterly?"; That One Hundred and Seven votes were cast against the propos- ition,"Shall each of the Trustees of the City of Lodi have a salary of Two Hundred and Forty Dollars per year,payable quarterly?"; We,therefore,as Trustees of the City of Lodi,declare that John M.3lodgett,Frank 0.Hale and George E.Lawrence were duly elected Members of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi,they having received the highest number of votes for said offices; that John M.McMahon was duly elected Clerk of the City of Lodi,he having received the highest number of votes for that office; that William H.Lorenz was duly elected Treasurer of the City of Lodi,he having received the highest number of votes for that office; that Hannibal D'RD B.Cole?an was duly elected Marshal of the City of Lodi,he having received the highest number of votes for that office; that the proposition,°S::all each of the Trustees of the City of Lodi have a salary of Two Hundred and Forty Dollars per year,payable quarterly?0) was duly carried and adopted,a majority of all the votes cast having been cast for aid in favor of such proposition. It was regularly gloved and seconded that the foregoing resolut- ion be adopted as r'ead,which notion was carried by the following vote: Ayes: J.M.Blodgett,F.O.Hale,G.E.Lawrence,C.A.Rich and L.Viilinger. Noes: None. Trustees -elect J.M.Biodgett,F.O.Hale and G.E.Lawrence and Marshal -elect H.B.Colerlan took the Oath of Office,the oath being administered by the City Cleri:. Trustee G.E.Lawrence was placed in nomination for the office of ?resident of the Board by Trustee C.A.Rich and unanimously elected. The 3ond of H.3.Colerian as City Marshal in the sum of Two Thousand Dollars,with the following sureties in the sun of One Thousand Dollars each was approved and accepted:J.A.Grahan,Gottlieb Doering,S.A.Shinn and ,t.H.Thompson. The Bond of J.M.McMahon as City Clerk in the slug of One Thousand Dollars,with the following sureties in the sum of One Thousand Dollars each,was approved and accepted: Adolph Bauer and C.G.Guggoiz. The representatives of the Stockton Mail made a proposition that for $200.00 they would give the City of Lodi a full page write up ir. the Special Edition of the :fail,to be issued during the first week in 3ay,and 2000 copies of the paper,or for $100.00 they would give a half page write up and 1000 copies of the paper. The natter was referred tc the corinittee of the whole. 50 The following- Applications for Building; Permits were read and granted: r.F.Boese,Dwelling on Lot 6 B10Ck8,E.Lodi; J.H.';;alter,TwO story frame building on Lot 12 Block 2 Barnhart Tr.; A.Lebouf,Addition to Dwelling on Lot 21 Block 48 D.& K.Add.; Max Elwert,pernission to move dwelling on Lots 3&4 Block 11; Fred M.Mettaer,Auto shed on Lot 8 Block 8 Handel's Addition. The Application of J.ri.Lir.baugh for the position of N6ghtwatchman was read and filed. The Report of Engineer Henderson on the matter of placing transformers for C.L.Yan Buskirk and Geo.Cluff,in which he advised that the consumers be obliged to pay for the transfosrers,was read and the Clerk was instructed to notify Kr.Van 3uekirk.Nr.Cluff was present and heard the report.
