The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in
adjoIrned regular session,prusuant to adjournment of :-:ar.21,1910,
President G.E.Lawrence presidir. and the following other .members of
the Board being present: J.M.31ocI ett,F.O.Hale,C.A.Rie:. and L. J_111n C-
er.
The minutes of the Previous Meeting were read and approved.
R.W.Young was granted a permit to idprove a building an
Lot 4 Block 8,Hutchins Addition.
The applications of W.T.Gre:; ,,Jar:ies Marlow and Chas.R.
Fisher for the position of Inspector of Construction were referred
to the Committee of the Whole.
G.?:.Steele 3sq..attorney for J.M.Appleton and Frederickson
Bros.,offered the Contract of said parties,acconpanied by two bonds
as follows:
FIRST: The bond for the performance of their contract with the City,
with the following sureties in the sum of 43000.00 each: Hilliard
F,."relch,Max El rert,J.yr.Dougherty,R.M.Combs,A.F.Kavanaugh,H .F.Beckman,
H.M.Madison,Geo.Aaufman,C.J.Weber and Gottlieb Hieb.
SECOND: The bond for the security of material men and laborers,wlth
the following sureties in the su::, of 48500.00 each: H.C.3scic an,
Chas.Sollars,F.J.Lease,and the following sureties in the sum of
14850.00 each: Geo.w.LeMoin and C.A.Nelson.
The following resolution was then read by the Clerk:
Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi that the
bond presented by J.M.Appleton and Frederickson Brothers to secure
said City for the performance of their contract with said City to
furnish construction,labor and certain materials for the proposed
sewer system of said City,the same being the bond provided for in
the Act of 1901 under which the honds for said sewer system were
issued,is hereby approved and accepted and declared to be in form
and substance such as the said Board of Trustees deems best in the
premises.
And the City Clerk is heT2eby authorized and directed to
annex a copy of this resolution.attested by his official self,to
said bond,for the purpose of ldentifyin& the same and in evidence
of the fact of this resolution of approval.

It was moved by Trustee ..O.ale and seconded by Trustee
L.Villinger that the foregoing resolution be adopted as read,which
motion was carried by the following vote:
Ayes: J.M.31od.ett,F.o. ale,G.E.Lawrence,C.A.Rich and L.Villinger.
Noes: None.
The following resolution was then read by the Clerk:
Resolved by the 3oard of Trustees of the City of Lodi that the
bond for the security Of material men and laborers tendered by
J.M.Appleton and Frederickson 3rothers in the matter of their con-
tract far'labor and materials and construction of the proposed sewer
system of said City,be and the sane is hereby approved by said 3oard,
and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to annex a copy
of this resolution,attested by his official self,to said bond,ln
identification of said bond and as evidence of the fact of this
approval.
It was moved by Trustee J.M.31od„ett and seconded by Trustee
L.Villinger that the f:regoing resolution be adopted as read,which
motion was -carried by the following vote:
Ayes: J.:M.31odgett,?.C.Hale,G.E.Lawrerce,C.A.R1c1 and L.Villinger.
Noes: None.
Thereupoa,in accordance with the resolution of this Board
adpoted on March 15th.,1910,the contract with J.:.Appleton and Freder-
ickson Brothers was duly executed on behalf of the City by the ?resid-
ent of t:e Board of Trustees and the City Clerk.
The contract with Glad.:iing,}ic3ean & Co.,aecompanled by a
bond in the spun of 15000.00 with The United States Fidelity and
Guaranty Company as surety,was presented.
The following resolution was then read by the Clerk:
Resolved by the 3oard of Trustees of the City of Lodi that the
bond presented by Gladding,Nc3ean & Company to secure said City
for the performance of their contract with said City to furnish
sewer pipe for the proposed sewer system of said City,the sane bein3
the bond provided for in the Act of 1901 under which the bonds
for said sewer system were issued,is hereby approved and accepted
and declared to be in form and substance such as the said Board
of Trustees deems beat in the premises.
And the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed

to annex a co'p:.r of this resolution,attested by his official self,to
said bond,for the purpose of identifying the sage and in evidence
of the fact ,of this resolution of approval.

adopted as read,which motion was carried by the following vote:
Ayes: J.d.31odgett,,.O.!iale,G.E.Lawrence,C.A.Rieh and L.Villinger.
Noes: None.
. Thereunon,in accordance with the resolution of this 3oard
adopted March 15th. ,1910,the contract with Gladdin: ,lfc3ean & Company
was duly executed to behalf of the City by the ?resident of the
3oard of Trustees and the City Cleric.
The following resolution was then read by the Clerk:
3e Tt Resolved: that,at the General Municipal Election to be
held in the City of Lodi on April llth.,1910,the following proposit—
ion be submitted to the electors of said City,in substantially the
following foal:
"Shall each of the Trustees of the City of Lodi(subject
YES
to the provisions of Section 9,Article _{T of the Constitut—
NO
ion) have a salary of Two hundred and forty dollars per
yea= , payable quarterly?"
It was moved ami seconded that the foregoing resolution be
adopted as read,which motion was carried by the following vote:
Ayes: J. f.3lodgett,F.O.Hale,G.E.Lawrence,C.A.R±ch and L.Villinger.
It was moved and seconded that this Board do now adjourn
until 'riday evening,March 25th.,1910. Carried and so ordered.
